Trade 126610LN for Cermit or Pepsi?

Hey all,

Long time no post! I have a very first world thought. My two watch collection has consolidated down to the 126711CHNR Rootbeer and the new 126610LN Sub Date.

I’ve been thinking of trading my 126610LN + 5-6k USD for the new 126610LV Cermit or the 126710BLRO. Is this a bad trade?

I feel like I should just be done with it and add a Daytona. I actually do love the watch, proportions and all. I just thought about having something with a little more pop. Here’s a pic of my current Sub!

Only you can know.

You’ve already got a watch that “pops” in the CHNR and I wouldn’t add the BLRO personally I’d have no need for two GMT’s....

So then it comes down whether you want the green bezel for $5k ...

Paying 5K USD to have green dye added to your bezel is a great idea. Green dye has magical amuletic powers that draw money to you. This is fantastic ROI. GO FOR IT!

Why not get on the list for the new Kermit and then sell your Black Sub when the Kermit arrives.

Yeah pretty much.

OP, you have the classic model. Ask your AD what it would take to get a Pepsi. You're probably not going to derive $5,000 worth of smiles looking down at a weird green instead of that beautiful glossy black. Go look at your watch under a tree canopy with thousands of light sources. You're missing nothing.

We are buying luxury items for our pleasure, so which one make you happier go for it.

Did you get 126610LN from your AD/Boutique? You should have asked for 126610LV from the beginning so you don't need to pay extra $5k now.

I think it might be better to save your cash for SS Daytona at your AD.

You may regret not having the standard black sub in your collection. You are going to end up with too much “pop”, just a lot of bright colored watches. They maybe look good on Instagram but not practical at all in everyday life. Good luck!

Very good point. Two GMTs is a bit redundant.

I needed to hear this. Green is the greatest colour created, and demands a premium. I’m all in

I remember seeing the Hulk and not thinking of it as a “wow” watch. I thought the Cermit was better, but now I’m feeling that it’s all IG. Thanks for the input!

Question answered above, I prefer the black anyway and don't think a green bezel sliver is worth 5k.

OP, What did you end up doing? I've been considering trading to an LV as well. But the cost to trade an LN for an LV is steep

Keep it, it’s a new watch and enjoy it instead of always looking for the next best thing

Not sure of the math but I like yours better anyway. A black Sub will always be the one to have.

What I'd do: keep the Sub Date and trade the CHNR for a BLRO. Pepsi is always the answer.

I think you’d have to add more cash even for a cermit. Why would anyone trade you their cermit to break even with its gray price? And blro is even more at around 20k now.

Either way, i’d personally trade up for a blro before a cermit

Yes. Do it. I know people say don’t spend an extra 5k on a green bezel or a Pepsi. But I have a black sub I never wear and always reach for my LV. So In a way all of the money I spent on my black sub is a waste with that logic. We are talking about luxury items. 10k plus for a watch is insane to anyone outside of this forum. Do what makes you happy!
