How many diamonds on factory 36mm bezel?

Hi all,

I've tried looking at pictures and counted until I've gone cross in the eyes and in the end, and not been 100% if what I was looking at was genuine from factory in the first place, so I thought it'd be better to just straight ask.

I've seen it said on here that Rolex does not publicize diamond weights, but does anyone know the diamond COUNT on a 36mm bezel?

I believe it's 44 count, or possibly 42. Or perhaps it's changed over the years, but I don't believe I've seen anything more than 44 that wasn't aftermarket, i.e. more diamonds, small point size.

Appreciate the steer in the right direction!

Here’s the best way to count: enlarge the picture of the watch, print it on plain paper and get out your pencil.

Make radial stroke from each Diamond about 1” long. Like the spokes on a wheel.

Now count by numbering each stroke and you won’t go blind.

You should do this on any watch you’re thinking of buying and then compare your results to crowncollection’s reference list.

No guarantee since fakirs know how to count but it’ll save your eyesight.

I'm sorry I screwed up

I did see this thread already, but I am looking for diamond count on an authentic 31MM, mid-size lady datejust bezel. I don't know why I had 36 in my head.

That thread refers to lady datejust, but I am assuming it refers to the 26MM.

I don't seem to be able to edit my thread, probably due to being a new member...

Thank you!

Thanks for the tips. I have to say, at least for the 31mm, no one seems particularly concerned about getting it right. I've yet to see any aftermarkets that aren't made with 46 - 48 stones, unless they're garishly oversized
