Do you prefer no date or date on a Rolex watch?

Personally I prefer to have date on my watch that's why I purchased the 116610LV and 126710BLRO. A reason why I'm hesitant in buying a Daytona is because it doesn't have a date function but I also feel like this opinion has limited myself to only a handful of Rolex watches.

I've owned the Explorer 214270 MK2 until this year March 2021 when prices shot through the roof and only wore it 2-3 times for the duration of ownership. I just find the watch boring to look at. I'm not sure if a no date sub will have the same effect or even a Daytona.

What do you all think?

I personally prefer the look of a Nodate, but I need a date on my watch since I have to sign lots of documents per day.

Date.

I'm getting on a bit. Small windows don't work for me any more unless magnified.

Not all magnified date windows work. Rolex know how to do it.

Date for me.

I love the simplicity of my Explorer but check for the date numerous times a day. Age

I use the date option all the time. The no date looks sleeker though. But the dates a must for me.

I own 8 watches and the only one with a date function is my gshock...only because there isn't a no-date gshock. I have no problem remembering what day it is and just prefer the no date look.

For the OP, I can't offer you any help regarding whether you will like a Daytona or a Submariner. I can't relate to the notion that the Explorer is boring.

I sign so many documents on a daily basis that date is mandatory for me, especially when traveling.

Actually, time is less important than date when I think about it, for me.

you should definitely take the date into consideration if buying a daytona, ive had a couple and sold them for this reason, i still have the platinum one but even that doesnt get much wrist time because it has no date. Really bugs me when i look down and its not there i check it alot.

I’ve owned a 116523 two tone black dial Daytona and sold it as well because I didn’t like the no date element to it. I was thinking if steel ceramic would be any different but from the looks of it, probably not. Not sure what to buy next then or maybe I should enjoy what I got

Date and didn’t really realize how much I missed a date until I bought a Daytona back in the day.

No date. If rolex had some stones they would produce a platinum sub c with no date.

Time and date, the two things I use my watch for most in order. I might prefer the LOOK of a watch without a date function but it is something I really do use several times a day it seems. The cyclops may not be the most attractive thing but I never strain when looking at the date on a Rolex. Can't say the same thing about my SMP.

History and symmetry give Submariner the choice over date version.

Depends on the watch. Prefer it on the Sub. If I wanted it on my OP 39 I would have bought another DJ. Would be too cluttered on the Daytona. Take it off the Sky Dweller and it would be missing something for sure. Like a mole....looks good on Cindy Crawford but not on everyone.

No date on a sub is perfectly proportioned and my choice. Love the functionality of it on my Pepsi though.
