Rename the original batman?

To separate the new from old...

I present

The Rolex GMT II 116710BLNR

Formerly the “Batman”

I propose... “Batman-BC” (before covid)

Yes another nickname thread. It’s only been a few hours since the last one. The new TRF is really falling asleep here.

Psychologists have been suggesting for decades that adolescence in the US keeps getting longer and longer.

From the threads that I keep seeing on TRF, I'm convinced that in the US, and perhaps the entire Western world, adolescence extends well into the 30s and in some cases, perhaps the late 40s.

I actually just read an article not too long ago that suggested something very similar. Basically stated that there is nothing forcing people to mature in todays day and age, compared to previous generations who actually struggled with providing food and shelter.

Honestly, still don’t know how we got Batman from a purple and blueish GMT and I’m past it all but a local collector put it in funny perspective several years ago:

‘Batman had a utility belt, hid in a cave, had an adolescent work and live-in companion who left the circus, and he never left the same city his whole life. So Batman seems good for a Rolex gmt.’

nice! I’m gonna go with 126710BLNR.

That’s what that call it on the website.

Funny though... they call it the cosmopolitan watch. So much for the adventurous globetrotting roots. I feel less cosmopolitan with my 16760. I’ll take that one.

This is stupid.
Here’s a serious question: mods, can there be a sticky for nicknames so that the boneheads that obsess over these stupid things can have an Avenue to roam without cluttering up the main page with this stupidity?

This.

Enough already with the superhero and baby-talk nicknames. Grow up people.

Blue and Black bezel = Batman.
Blue and Red bezel = Pepsi.
Black and Red bezel = Coke.

Many examples of each exist and I'm sure we'll see many more in the future.

End of story.
