Crown alignment niggle
Hello all. I've noticed the rolex logo on the crown of my new watch doesn't align correctly when then the watch is fully locked. It sites roughly 3 9 instead of 12 6. Yes I know I know in the scene of things etc, but it is niggling away. I found this article on it. What are your thoughts chaps?

I usually look at the dial to tell the time, I never look at the crown on the side of the watch case.
My logos on my car wheels don't line up either and there are four of them.

An upright crown as seen on Rolex site is merely a...serving suggestion.

This has been discussed before and more often than not, they don't align... just let it go.

LOL you are doing it all wrong. I try to line up my crown with the angle of the sun when checking the time. I can usually predict the time within 6 hours either side

It wasn’t meant to align.

If you want alignment of brand logo and case look at getting a Patek Philippe. Generally speaking they are in another price bracket also.

Have to agree Brian it's just a winding crown for winding the watch nothing more.Perhaps they should should get rid of the crown emblem then everyone's crown would line up somewhere. And makes no difference to the function of the watch wherever the emblem is, whether crown up or downside up, or anywhere between.

Just back it out a tad to where you like it. Snug it when you plan to dive 1000ft.

Funny enough, the one rolex on which the crown aligns perfectly is the oldest I own - a 1958 5510 big crown. All the rest, vintage and modern, are all over the place ... and I’m perfectly fine with that...

When I bought my first Rolex, a SubC about 5 years ago, there were 4 of them in the AD case that day and for lack of any other differentiating factor, I picked the one that had the crown aligned most closely, even though it points to about 1 o’clock. Those were the days...

That someone considers this a problem suggests there are much more serious underlying problems.

they're not supposed to align .... the alignment is marketing photos. The crown has to be somewhere in the photos and perfect alignment makes the prettiest pictures.
But as everyone has said and the article too, out of alignment is not an alignment issue. almost a dozen Rolex watches in/out of my collection and not one has aligned |

I had an Omega Professional 2252.50 where both the crown and the helium valve aligned perfectly. The irony is I sold it to fund the Rolex.

Maybe Rolex should call Rolls Royce and inquire about their wheels and how they keep the center cap with the RR always upright, even if the wheel spins!
I mean...I guess it would be nice if it were to line up like it does on their websites, but, mechanically speaking, even if it does line up when new, I wouldn't be surprised if age and wear and tear on both metal and gasket/rubber O ring material would have it lose it's position eventually. But do we really care enough? I am a perfectionist, and I don't. Guess any watch in your collection that has a crown that lines up is your special piece. What was the deal with the Skydweller having the special crown that always lines up?

It is a simple thing to do. The tube is rotated a little and tried until the crown aligns. DO NOT TRY TO DO IT YOURSELF

I would consider selling the watch. It's bad luck.

Would not make much difference as over the many years of wearing the seal in the crown head wears slightly. So over the years eventually would not line upright, thats if it's supposed to line up with anything, except in photo marketing brochures.

The crown aligns on my Sub and, for some reason, this pleases me.

It seems it would make a differencece to the OP. and it can be simply adjusted again in as you say a few years, That's service time anyway.
