Long Island: Rolex fan seeks expert watchmaker

I dont feel like schlepping to the city and have a 12 week wait from the Rolex Building and I have been told that Roosevelt Field Torneau is overpriced.

Any suggestions. Out of state is ok if the do good work and have a reputation.

A so called highly rated expert in Queens fixed my 116610 but i have to take it back 2x in 18 months, so I am annoyed.

I had my recent service done at HL Gross which is an authorized service center. They are fantastic and had my watch back to me in about 4 weeks. You can read the reviews (and my review) on google/yelp. I am in no way affiliated with them, just searched for a LONG time to avoid either going to the city or mailing the watch. If you don't want to use an RSC, you can also check out Time Source in Huntington. Good luck.

I've yet to find one on LI. However, many people like using LA Watchworks, though you'd have to ship it off to them.

I don't trust any of the ADs on Long Island.

Is that the one in garden city? Didn't know they had a service center. Last time I went they sent out a young guy who was surprised anyone was there to look at watches.

Yup, that's the one. Jorge, their watchmaker, is Rolex certified/trained (you can look him up). I did my research and verified their status with the NYC RSC prior to doing anything. They also got Rolex to do my service at a discount due to the fact that it was like 2 months out of warranty. They're good people.
