DJ41 on leather strap

Fancied a change from the Jubilee bracelet on my DJ41 blue dial, tried it on this very dark brown strap just for a change....does it work, it’s a yes or no? Thoughts please...

Not too sure with that combo. I know it may seem strange but if that’s the blue dial then maybe a blue strap. I have a hulk and a green alligator strap looks amazing on it.
The same with brown straps and chocolate dials.
But the main thing is that if you like it, to hell with everyone else.
Have a great day!

For me, the jubilee is 40% of the appeal of the watch. No strap even comes close.

I think the colour combo is a mismatch, however I do like it on a leather strap it’s a shame you have to lose the clasp though.

The dark brown with that shade of blue doesn’t work at all. Even though many watches look good on a strap, the DJ just doesn’t seem as versatile. It should only be on a bracelet... maybe due to the twinkle in the fluted bezel.

For blue dial, it would be better with dark blue strap.

The strap makes this DateJust looks dressier but most Rolex look best with bracelet.

DJ41 on leather strap

Think looks ok, but probably will look better with either a black, blue or a tan leather band. You can have custom leather bands built that would allow you to use your jubilee clasp with leather; van also buy a pair of SS endlinks (similar to the ones below) to have a more integrated fit of the leather band to the case as well

How about a wrist shot? The combo looks fine, and if you like it that’s all that matters. I have found that the spring bar holes are too close to the case for a practical delivery of a leather strap. I nearly ruined a Hirsch croc strap from the rubbing against the case. Also, to me, the lugs looked funny in a terrible way on my wrist, again due to the spring bar hole placement. YMMV

Strap is too dressy and thin for the watch.
I would try thicker (panerai style) strap so it integrates with lugs better.
Colors match, cant go wrong with brown on any dial color.
At the end of the day its all a personal choice, if you like it who cares. You ll get 100 replies with 100 different opinions :)

I like the leather strap but would opt for dark blue. Might add silver stitching? Would have to see it first. I wouldn't add the end links.

Dark blue or black strap would work as a dress watch.

I think it looks great. I've contemplated buying a white dial and doing the same.

I happen to not dislike your strap/dial color combo. I would fall short of calling it a dress watch, but definitely "dressy." Again, if you like rock on. My biggest hang up with a strap on the DJ41 is the spring bar hole location and what it does to the presentation of the lugs.

When I tried it on my TT and roll my wrist over I got this action. (also note rubbing of strap)

My conclusion is the DJ41 and leather straps is not a tandem that works for me. Again, if you dig it, tarry on.

I like this look, not many would ditch a jubilee for a strap but I am a fan of watches on straps so you have given me some ideas to try out, thanks for that.

A good look IMHO, congrats OP.

I think that strap looks terrific but for a blue dial I think I would prefer a dark blue or black strap over the brown. It's rare to see a DJ41 on a strap that really works, but I have to say you picked a great strap there. Other than color preference I really like it!

Can I ask which strap that is? I have been looking recently and not a lot of 21mm gator straps out there that look as premium as yours.

that combo is awesome, looks great

only problem is that the DJ41 is just a tad too large, despite 39.5 mm case diameter, looks a bit awkward on a strap. I would say the 36mm would be better suited to leather strap.

By the way, how big is your wrist??

It’s Rios Louisana alligator pattern, Mocha colour ...it’s from watch obsession....it wasn’t dear, only £28....was purely trying it out before I went the whole hog for a real Aligator strap

Looks good, but I think the concept would look better on a new DJ36 or any vintage DJ. The jubilee bracelet on any of the DJ41 models are not to be replaced IMO

Great thank you...I see where everyone is coming from....the overspill from the lugs when you look close does look a bit off. But the strap is heavy enough that I don’t really notice it....best go with cheaper straps as it does rub against the the case to begin with...but soon settles down
