Dirt or Grease on Wrist

Sometimes I'll get this on my wrist. It only happens when I sweat on a hot day. In this case it occurred after I washed the watch and put it on my wrist wet. It only happens at this location on my wrist too.

Is this dirt coming out of the band or some kind of lubrication in the links in the band that's washing out?

That’s probably dirt accumulated on the bracelet; you can try ultrasonic cleaning on the bracelet to take all the dirt out

It is metal debris from the pins inside the links.

Thanks, yea I do ultrasonic clean the band once in a while. I get it with other watches but only at this location. I expect it's just dead skin/oily skin plus dirt.

It’s metal sludge from metal on metal wear.
It’s why the bracelet on pm watches have ceramic sleeves to lower the friction and metal wear . It’s also what over time your bracelet becomes more flexible and droopy

I've noticed this tends to be accelerated in dirty and extremely humid environments and I think it is a combination of multiple factors-skin oil, sweat, dirt, sunscreen, and fine metal shavings. After washing the watch I hit it with a bit of compressed air to dry off the parts you can't see and it seems to really reduce this.

Just wash the watch with dawn dish liquid either daily or a few times a week and it won't happen again. An alternative is to shower with your watch on and you are good to go. :-)

Metal on metal wears away pretty fast especially on a new bracelet with tight tolerances

Yeah, I don't think it's metal. If it was, you'd have no bracelet left in a year.

It's dirt. Stop sweating so much while digging ditches. Or clean the watch more often.

Dip a cloth in metal polish and rub the shiny side of you watch a few times , cloth is now black right?

That's not all that gets droopy over time

But seriously wash the watch in warm sudsy water and give it a final rinse with distilled water to assure that no don't get mineral build up - which might be part of your current problem. (dirt, sweat, and minerals from hard water).

I've been wearing the SD43 every day for almost 3 years now and I occasionally get that too, always on the inside of the left wrist.

The gunk is originating from between the links.
The fix is to go and clean it again, until you get an acceptable result. Repeat as necessary

Some dish washing liquid and warm water agitated with an old toothbrush to make plenty of bubbles and finished off with a thorough rinse under running warm water is all that's required.
It also doesn't hurt to soak the watch/bracelet in the warm soapy water solution either
Of course it's all good just as long as the watch is deemed to be waterproof.

One cane assume you don't mind being active. Perhaps even getting dirty.
So the gunk will likely be a combination of everything mentioned above. The metal component of the gunk will increase exponentially with the dirt getting in there and grinding away at everything
