Which should I sell?
I should be getting a YG Day Date soon, with blue dial. I have therefore decided I do not need to keep my other two Rolexes. I know it is almost a sin to sell a used watch, but I could do with the cash at the moment.
I have added some pics of my Datejust SS with original MOP and diamond dial (although not original to this watch). I also have a Submariner LV. Both of these watches are scratched and used. They both come with box and papers. Now, my first question is would I be able to sell the Datejust with this dial, although the original black stick dial would be included in the box? How much would I be able to get for the DJ or the Sub? Which one should I keep considering I am getting a Day Date? |

You will take a bath on the DJ if you bought it new, so sell the LV and hang on to the DJ.

Sell the DJ, I think the LV looks much better.

While I'm not a huge fan of the green bezel on the LV, I'd say keep it and sell the DJ. You'll already have a 'dressy' piece in the DD, so having a professional model to alternate with makes a great pair.

buy a Seiko then sell that instead...
Both your watches look awsome and im sure its gonna be a hard decision. But if I had to choose I would sell the Datejust. |

It depends on how much youre looking for. The LV will obviously bring a good bit more than the DJ. If you bought the DJ new, you may get your feelings hurt because their desirability has fallen quite a bit recently. The LV is a good investment, I recommend hanging to it if it's economical for you

You will lose a lot selling the datejust, on the other hand, you will lose a little selling the LV...

I believe that since you're getting a DD, that the DJ would not get any wrist time as they are similar watches, ultimately. Both more dressy watches. I would say sell the DJ and keep the tool watch. Then you at least have the best of both worlds.

Well as said you might loose a little selling the LV but you might loose a lot more if you keep the DJ and sell it sometime down the road.
I would sell the DJ with the original dial and sell the diamond dial separately.

Thank you all. Good idea Lol-x about selling the diamond dial separately...
I am actually now hesitant to sell either. I have been told it is never a good idea to sell a used watch. All I would do is spend the money on a silly handbag, so I am thinking of keeping them both and having a nice collection! |

The green bezel submariner is a thing of beauty .. I'd pick that over any rolex ... any.

I agree with the others, the 2nd hand market is tough right now and if you have to sell anything I would sell the LV as subs still seem to be selling

Normally I would say sell the LV.
But having seen the datejust I would imo sell that one.
