Zenith Daytona Dial Swap

Does anybody have any experience with RSC if they would allow a dial swap from white to black and vice versa for a 16520 Zenith Daytona?

Think they allow that as long as the alternate dial was available on the series of your watch

Swapping out an original 16520 dial for a new dial will decrease the value considerably, regardless what color you change to, unless the original is badly damaged.

Depending on the year you will be going to a luminova also.....which will decrease value....and I doubt they would do it

Why not source the dial that you do not have and have a competent watch maker install it. You can change it back when you want and should you decide to move the watch later the second dial adds a lot.

I'm not really an expert in the 16520. iI'm mainly buying it because I like the Daytona and would like the collect the 16520 and the 116520 before the prices go bonkers. Previously I was considering another 16520 in white but that unit was sold. Now there's another black one also without box and papers. I'm okay with black but if there's a chance to get the white service dial then I'm fine with it too. Regarding Tritium vs luminova argument, personally I prefer luminova though the value will tank but I am unlikely to sell the watch anyway. Also the tritium has slight radioactivity if Im not mistaken so would prefer something safer.

Ultimately if I do go ahead with the deal, it will go back to RSC anyway. A 1995 watch needs some TLC. The value may decrease but the feeling of wearing a "brand new" watch is priceless. I'm more hesitant because I can't overcome my own reasoning to buy a pre-owned watch and secondly, if it goes back to service, I’m afraid it will come back a Frankenstein watch, new bracelet, new dial which does not match the serial number. But I’m definitely not going to buying then not servicing it. That’s out of the question.

The tritium is probably dead, so I wouldn't worry about that. Also, it wouldn't come back a frankenwatch unless you approve of it. You tell them what to do or what not to do.
