Wife’s collection ...

I tell you, this whole “ you are lucky your wife enjoys the hobby with you” is not all that is cracked up to be.

I posted this picture a little while ago on my Instagram feed, noting “when did my wife’s collection become better than mine?”

She saw it and immediately said: “wait a minute, this is not all of my collection.” Then she continued: “ it is missing my “other black one?”

I was like “what other black one??”

So yes, apparently, since she pushed to have a black sub 41 in ‘our collection’, and since we were lucky to land it , she considers that one, the 126610LN, to be hers.

So as I am sitting here making measurements of the 114270, I am thinking to myself whether I can pull a fast one on her, and swap the 124270 with 126610 in her red toolbox ...

do you think she will notice???

This is how the new Explorer looks on her wrist ( picture at the AD at the time of pickup ):

And this is her beloved daily, that she wears every day:

So yeah, wife being into watch collecting ... sucks!

Wow. Looks great on her. Whatever you do, don’t show her a 116520 in white. I am telling you, you will not be able to resist and will get her one yourself!!

Wife’s collection ...

For me it all started in 2019, with her digital watch died and she want a mechanical watch instead. So no need to check all those digital screen and been interrupted with all the infos.

I didn't wear a watch at that time. Slowly doing some research and the sound from Watchfinder start creeping into my dream every night

Our first luxury watch start with a Datejust 31 Jubilee with dome bezel.

She chose this Datejust over this two options : Royal Oak 14470SA and Cartier Santos Galbee.

Nice picture and nice choices, glad she picked the right one. ( imagine cost of maintenance on that AP)

They all look good in her though.

My wife could care less about watches other than her apple one, and that is just fine with me.

Wow, great pictures, Faz and Dan and Jakjuventus!! I consider myself sooooooo fortunate that my gal will never want a Rolex of her own--she never wears a watch, would lose or bang it to hell if she did, and instead spends on gardening, tree-planting, etc., etc....which maybe, just maybe, costs fractionally less than a Rolex.

Same for me! My wife loves to spend money on gardening and landscaping. It gets real expensive quickly in Florida though as it all either grows or dies in no time haha. But still cheaper than a 2 tone women’s date just

Her datejust is perfect for everyday watch scratches all the links LOL.
Luckily it s Jubilee and scratches are hard to be seen.

Her Royal Oak got a long scratch since Day 1 😤

Thank you. It really does. I had told her in the last tense she wore my hulk and enjoyed it. She saw apparently some dude at her work with the black sub and came home and told me: funny how we don’t have the one classic black sub. We got iucjy with the AD like the month after and ended up with this beauty. Hence it belongs to her. She thinks.

You should be happy. The ‘ex’ part together with luxury watches could potentially cost one a lot.

My wife can not understand why I would spend a lot of money on a watch that stops after a couple of days if not worn!
