CL bracelet Z serial case
Hey folks,
Just got myself a Rolex Explorer 114270 Z serial and the bracelet is a CL. It means, watch head 2006/2007 and bracelet 2005. Is it a possible combo? Thanks! |

Remember serial number years are approximate, it’s possible the head did came with that bracelet

Z serials were first seen in the marketplace in 2006. That does not mean that the watch was made in 2006, despite Internet chart lore. Dating charts are not absolute manufacturer publications, they are Internet guesses.
It would be expected that a bracelet code and a watch code would be within a couple years, based on published chart estimates.

No internet chart is 100% accurate only a approx date between X&Y years plus clasps are made separate to bracelets.

CL is just for the clasp... The endlinks have codes too. Take the bracelet off and check the ends of the endlinks; spice it up a bit.

I popped out the bracelet today, turns out it's an AD code at the end link...
According to charts, that's even a year older than CL. Does it still sound fine? Thanks! |
