Need help deciding on this FP Journe!

Hi guys,

I'm being offered the FP Journe Chronometre Souverain 40mm Platinum with Havana Dial.

I'm trying to research this piece online but I am having trouble finding any information on it.

Can someone help?

Any idea on retail and aftermarket prices on these?

Thanks

You can check the hour glass Singapore website for an idea on pricing.

I just see one price, not sure if that's retail or secondary market?

No hesitation. Buy it. The secondary market is about 50k. I try it once and it is a gorgeous piece. From my opinion, this kind of special dial will be discontinued. At that time, the price may go to the moon.

I personally have the CS HAVANA in ROSE GOLD and its a great watch the dial just works really well and its something really different!!!

I think the price in the 2nd Hand is between $45-50 I would go for it

Are you being offered from an AD / Boutique or from a grey? I assume the former if you’re asking about the secondary market. If you’re buying to keep, which I recommend with this brand / watch, do it. It’s a fantastic watch. The dial is truly special.

Very nice - the CS is very well balanced. I'm actually heading to Journe in NYC tomorrow morning - finally ready to make a move.

From an AD. Would be my first piece. I asked for CS white dial in platinum but they've offered me this. What I really want is the Elegante. I'm afraid to turn this down as it might rupture the relationship. Hence, why I'm asking the aftermarket price (not that I'm selling, just to help me rationalize a sudden purchase).

Looks like you fellows are quoting 50k aftermarket, that's in comparison to 37k retail right? So it's trading above retail second hand? Thanks guys

The regular white dial CS is very nice as well. But given a choice, Havana seems more unique and special. IMHO, you should add this without a second thought.

Good luck.

Awesome watch. Like asking for a blnr and being offered a Pepsi. Go for it!

Is the Havana dial more desirable than the white dial?

Any thoughts on which dial is rarer? White or Havana?

Broadly speaking…yes. At least to me it is.

Taste is subjective.

All Journes are trading above retail. And the prices you quote are about right.
If you like the watch and are getting it at or close to retail, I would not hesitate. It's a beautiful piece.

As far as establishing a relationship with your AD, make sure they will still be carrying FPJ in the future and ask them what the chances are of getting an Elegante, if that is your ultimate goal. In the US, FPJ is now sold through boutiques only, and the waiting list is at 5 years and closed.

I just got my Havana dial CS in RG a few weeks ago and am loving it.

Can't say for sure, but the white dials have been in production a few years longer than the Havanas.
So my guess is there are less Havana dials.

They are both great and it’s a
personal decision. I’m sorry to say whether you purchase the CS or not an Elegante will not be within reach for
many years. Good luck!

Biggest watch regret I have is the Journe I passed on.

Beautiful watch. Really stunning.

Don’t worry about the “relationship” aspect of turning down something you don’t like! A one sided relationship is not really a good one to be in.

Congratulations on the piece, it's gorgeous. Was it your first choice or they offered it and you jumped on it? And Did you request another piece next, if so which one?

Very good point about the ADs in the states being closed and only the boutiques being open. Luckily in Canada that's not the case (we only have two ADs, no boutiques). Then again, we could be next so maybe even more reason to get in now?

I'll definitely inquire about the chances of an Elegante after this purchase.

Oops I meant in the market, which is trading higher in the secondary market: white dial or Havana dial?

Ever seen them listed on the secondary market?
I've seen white dials for 50k.
But the only Havana dial I've seen is on watchbox, it's 38mm and price upon request.

Havana commands a premium to white. The market is confusing right now as there aren’t many FPJ available and when they are it’s at the same handful of greys.

But a month ago a white would be like 35-38 and Havana’s low 40s I think. Don’t quote me!

Prices are surely higher right now. No stock.

Don’t think. Just buy it. You won’t regret it as long as you find it beautiful and it fits wellZ

Thank you. I got it through a boutique. I told them I wanted this particular piece and when they got one and I was next in line, they called me.
I am on the list for a couple of Elegantes as well.
