Question about aftermarket dials and bezels

Hey guys, I have a question about aftermarket dials and bezels. Are these items generally frowned upon and why do the majority of the Ebay watches have them (diamond dial and bezel)? And would I have a problem with Rolex Service Center when I send the watch in for service with items on the watch?

Aftermarket parts are considered counterfeits by Rolex, and if you do send a watch in with aftermarket parts, Rolex will replace them with the correct parts at your expense.

Yes they are generally frowned upon by collectors. Yes you will not be able to service the watch at RSC unless it is returned to stock condition.

99% of the aftermarket bezels will not be able to keep the watch pressure proof.

Make sure you check the style number of the watch, it will tell you the original configuration of the watch.

Three words:

DON'T DO IT!!!

e-Bay has a lot of them because they are cheaper than the real thing. They can take an old beat up DJ and turn it into a brand new looking DJ for chump change. The watch has been considerably de-valued due to the counterfeit parts.

There are good deals to be had on e-Bay if you know what you are doing. Similarly, it is easy to be taken on e-Bay too.
