Been A While, Ol' Friend.......

Heading out to my retirement dinner w/ my dad, son, & lovely bride [of 35 years] and decided to wear my old companion that's traveled the world [more than a few times] with me over the last 15 years. I've only worn it once in the last couple years since buying my BB GMT.

That’s a beauty! Congrats on the retirement. Hopefully the newfound “free” time will warrant spending more of it with the BLRO. Enjoy the dinner!

Beautiful Dan, I just switched from my 16710 to my BB-925 yesterday... it's good to switch things up.

Gorgeous how come no wrist time? The BB GMT is an outstanding piece I love mine too. That being said I do find my 16710 easier to read in the dark at first glance.

Thanks again, everybody!

The BB GMT seems to fit my large hands a bit better and maybe subliminally I want to keep the higher valued 16710 in good condition. But as Paul says, it's nice to have options.

Very nice you traveled with the GMT. Beautiful watch! Congratulations on your retirement. If I can give you some advice, since retiring I have gotten the question more than a few times, “so what are you going to do?” My answer, any damn thing I want!!

Agreed!

This July 4th marks 35 years I've been a working musician, with about 3000 shows under by belt. While driving home from last night's gig, I was thinking just how lucky I was to still get a thrill from playing music. I played before, during, and now continue to after my career [did the day job was so I could buy more basses].

Thanks, mate! Appreciate the kind words and remember fondly sharing a pint or two in a pub while we talked about how to save the world back in 2008 at our London GTG.

Btw, you can tell it's taking my wife some time to do her hair by my ability to answer this thread!

Cracking watch Dan. I think yours may have been the reason I purchased my (now departed) GMT.

Continue to wear it in good health.

Congratulations on your retirement Dan. A great reason to strap on your old friend, it’s a great feeling to pull a watch like that out and wind it and get reacquainted. Looks great on you, enjoy your watch and your family today.
