New Purchase Datejust 126234

Just picked this datejust from an AD. This is the first Rolex I purchased directly from the AD. I have to say it was a quite different experience than buying online (grey market).

When comparing to the sub 16610 I purchased about a year ago, I do feel the 36mm case size fits my 6.5 inches wrist much much better. Although the 16610 is considerable slimmer than ceramic subs, I still think it is too big for me. Wearing the sub just makes me feel like wearing oversized shoes, which may look good but just not for me.

I have to admit the sub has its own charm and it is undoubtfully the most ironic rolex, but the datejust gives me a more expensive watch feeling when wearing it.

Enjoy your watch.

Grey dealer experience is far more satisfying for some.

My 36mm DateJust is my favorite Rolex. It gets more wrist time than my SS Sub/Date, and 39mm OP. A true classic piece.

Love the comparison in size between a sub and a 36mm DJ. May be the first time I’ve seen those two side-by-side. While the DJ case is 4mm smaller, it looks like the dial size is almost the same, very interesting! Thanks for sharing

Yes, the dials are almost identical in diameters, which are about 30mm

I used to have a Datejust with jubilee bracelet for a very short time, which I liked it too. I would like to try something new this time and the AD I visited happened to have this combination in stock, so I decided on the oyster. When comparing the oyster and the jubilee, I would say a Datejust with the oyster is less formal but sportier. If you want to rotate your sub and a Datejust, the jubilee bracelet is a good choice. If you would like to wear a Datejust as your daily watch, I would say the oyster is better. It doesn't look strange with a T-shirt, although it is considered as a formal watch
