Thanks to my beloved AD, I was able to get my hands on, and take home with me, this very nice 126610ln.
I told my AD last December that 2021 was going to be a special year for me, as I would turn 40 in June, and celebrate the birth of my first child at the end of summer. Moreover, both my parents were born in 1953, same year the sub was launched (although I chose go to with the date model. I still think this was a sign that called for a sub or maybe I am trying to find excuses to justify another watch).
Being the proud owner of a Sea Dweller 116600, I absolutely do not feel a y kind of redundancy between the two pieces. The Sub wears much slimmer and lighter, and I still dig the more robust feel of its bigger sister.
Anyway, I am super happy. I was able to score two relatively hard to get pieces in 6 months (the other one is a black dial SS SkyDweller), I guess being patient, honest, wearing what you buy and show a genuine interest for the pieces you get really goes a long way with your AD. I am glad to see there is still hope for those of us who buy a watch for what it is: a reliable and robust instrument meant to be worn.
