Waitlist at multiple ADs?
Hello all,
I travel for work frequently between 2 countries. Is there any harm in joining a waitlist at 1 AD in each country? Do ADs look negatively upon this? Cheers, SB |

Exactly and if you believe all you read on the various watch forums, Rolex know longer sells watches to Joe public, I some wonder how they sell around 800000 plus watches each year.

There is a central database, outside of territorial waters, where all ADs keep their coalesced data. They do this so GDPR and other regulations don’t impact them, all to see if some people dared asking for the same thing twice!

As long as they want to put down your name as it seems most ADs need purchase history and prefer to sell to the locals. No harms at all if you can do it.

You asked to be put on a "list". How is that a negative?

No harm at all. Unless you tell them. Mum is the word. Do it is the order the day.

You can do it but I doubt it's an effective strategy. If a hot and desirable piece comes in they will want to sell it to someone they have a relationship with....not a name on a list they don't really know.

No harm at all - put your name down on as many as you can but I would recommend trying to build purchase history at one if possible

The game is to be a serious and long term customer, you're only limited by your ability to demonstrate that across multiple ADs through usual games - story telling, purchase history, etc, but not limited by a widespread database of waitlists and any idea of loyalty.

No harm no foul. Probably won’t get it but you definitely won’t get anything without the ask.

I do it... I have six AD's, five of which are within walking distance, in my town.
thing is nothing lasts in the store even IF it actually makes it to the case... which they do sometimes. |

This is exactly my question. Is this real? Some people swear it's true, others say it's urban legend.

You are not committing any crime being on wait-list on multiple AD's.

I go the bank in the morning and put my signature on a wire draft and then the next day I have my watch.
