Didn't see this talked about on here already, so hopefully not a repost. Do you guys think even somebody with his resources had to go to a gray (or several) to nab a half dozen Subs? To be clear, the actual number wasn't mentioned but I'm guessing 4-6 groomsmen for something like this... just seems like that would be beyond what any AD had access to even if they were willing to direct everything your way.

No. He told his agent he needs 6 subs and the agent called whoever he needed to at Rolex. They are hard to get for normal people, not for him.

However, I'll just point out: It never said they were all identical... Perhaps his brother got the Sub, and the rest of the groomsmen got the TT DJ31s he had to buy in order to get that Sub.

This. Many folks in his situation don’t look at the bill immediately after so they don’t even know if this was AD or grey. Nor do they care. Remember when Jay Z bought a bunch of gold Daytonas as party invites? Nobody thinks he went AD to AD to pick these all up lol.

I’m sure he just bought it at a grey dealer. Not many ADs have six Submariners sitting around nor could they order up 6 Subs. And do you really think he cared about paying the mark-up. That’s why the grey dealers are doing so well these days. The established grey dealers can source a Sub fairly easily if you want to pay the premium.

Zero chance these were from a grey. It is a different world for these people and I would
be shocked if he could not get whatever he wanted from an AD at the snap of his (or his agents) fingers.

Not a chance in Hell he went grey. One of his keepers, maybe. When you’ve got fame and dumb money at your disposal, I presume it drops the AD’s proverbial panties faster than any of us could shake a stick. SA doesn’t go home and say they sold Tom Nobody that spends 200k a year a Rolex they wanted, I bet they go home and say they sold Patrick Mahomes 6 Rolex’s today. They probably even brag about the fact they weren’t that hard to source, maybe a hoop here or there but it wasn’t for a random vip so even other AD’s would probably jump at the chance to help source a watch to him.
