What do you guys do??
Hi
I have often sat here and pondered how’s best to request that watch I want ( need lol ) from my AD, upto now I have kind of said I’d like a …… and then waited, then last time I rang in between and asked for a different model ( which they got within weeks ), I am now waiting on the model I originally wanted and one other, I don’t mind which order they come in if they come. My point is I guess as waits are so long is it worth giving a list to the AD of all your interests ie OP 41 BLRN Sub Daytona steel Etc ( I know I haven’t used the correct abbreviations sorry Or each time you get the model you want, then request the next?? Cheers guys Colin |

I've requested more than one piece at a time - the most was 4 - but then I've known my AD for many many years, so they know I never just choose all the "hottest" models for a quick flip. We usually have a chat about order of preference, but they've never had a issue putting me down for more than one at a time. How that would play out if I was a "walk in" off the street with no history... who knows. (Not well I'd imagine!)

I suggest you give it a thorough thought as to which one(s) are your top priority. Then narrow it down to max two references. Either "this" or "that", being upfront. And remain firm on those two until at least one of them has been obtained.
By handing a "shopping" list, not only does it show you're undecided but you also run the risk of coming across as a flipper. At best it makes it harder for the AD to remember you when requesting pieces from Rolex or when your reference of interest comes in. |

Would individually come down to your relationship with the AD.

providing a list of all the sought after SS Rolex watches.... will end up getting you nothing in my opinion
but each AD is different I'd ask for the one you want the most (but within reason).... ie if really want the Daytona SS but with little to no purchase history you can forget about it. So you need to set realistic expectations. I think for SS, Daytona and BLRO are unrealistic expectations. Everything else should be attainable some with longer waits than others. |
