Would you like a Cermic Daytona updated with the new Sub41mm case and inceasd size?

All I can say is I love the Daytona Panda in ceramic. Very nice bezel, and a very nice dial. But man, two things bother me about this watch.

First is the size, it's just so small at 38.5mm -- there's hardly any wrist presence.

Second is the case itself. In my opinion the fit and finish on the Daytona is unremarkable. The Submariner and GMT cases look higher quality with the mix of brush and polish. The all polish case on the Daytona look soft.

I think if the Daytona had the size increase of 40.5mm like the new subs and had a similar case of brush and polish it would be the best Rolex ever created.

Thoughts?

the 41 isn't that much bigger....

Don't have a Daytona handy but here's a 41 vs 16610, which I believe has a similar mid-case.

I have both. It is a good amount bigger! If you aren't aware the Daytona isn't close to the titled 40mm size Rolex states it is.

I did not realize this, is it more in line with the 14060 case?

The one on the left looks strikingly bigger than the right, and the one on the right is 1.5mm mm bigger than the Daytona...

The 14060 is 39.5mm, so it's still 1mm bigger than the current Daytona.

The Daytona wears smaller, especially the black dial/bezel variant. It feels more like a 38-39mm watch (I think it’s actually the latter).

I feel Daytonas were never meant to be as large as Subs. Throughout most of the Daytona's history, they were smaller than the Sub of the same era (look at 4 digit Daytonas vs 4 digit Subs).

I agree the ceramic Daytona wears small for its size, but its mostly due to the black ceramic that frames the case and gives the illusion of something smaller. If you want something that seems larger on your wrist, go for the steel bezel Daytona. Both 116520 and 16520 wear larger than the 116500.

agree the daytona is small (too small really) but i dont think the sub case is the answer. the daytona case is gorgeous, it just needs to be a bit bigger.

Yes

At least just a tad. Every time I wear either the 500, 520, or 523 I feel like I’m wearing my 214270 or 114300. Granted the 500 feels the biggest it’s still too small and light.

Been then again my fav is my SkyD or 126715 so my opinion may be skewed a tad

Every watch seems to be reliving the late 2000s with friggin huge watches. DJs were meant to be classic dress pieces. Now, there’s the bunyon 41mm size. It’s like seeing a 400 lb radioactive apple. Leave this one alone please.

I would like the Daytona with a slightly bigger case size. I have several, and like it as-is, but if I had the option, and for my wrist size, bigger would be better.

What makes the new Sub “bigger” isn’t so much the case. It’s the bracelet and clasp.

Hmmmm, if 41 DJ is a 400 lb radioactive apple, then I guess they should shrink the Daytona down to 35?

I would only change the lugs to be even width, and go back to a design where the subdials are even with the 9 and 3 line, if that requires a size increase, keep it minimal.

I have had a 40MM and a 42MM (EX II). Right now I have a 41 sub. I know it’s not a lot of difference, but I really like the 41 size; for me it’s perfect and would like to see it in more models.
