Soooooo, I need some financial advice:

I want to diversify my portfolio. I was wondering if you guys think I should begin investing.....on hand tags, box, warranty pamphlets, does will protectors, etc. Look at those prices from 2019 until now!!!

There is enough of this obsession with the packaging stuff on forum already, and those paying for such items IMHO must be sixpence short of a shilling.

I actually bought a box for a 16570 as the watch was too good without not to get. I was surprised at the quality of fakes out there.

Honestly, if you think about it, in reality, depending on the reference, the FACTORY PROTECTIVE STICKERS left on unworn models can be worth about $1,000 to even 5k to $10,000. I'm not joking here.

Absolutely not Larry!!! Those are pre 2015 boxes, not the modern! Those are worth only a quarter of the price of the ones in current production.

And you better not try to compare those maroon hand tags you have stored away for the current ones either!

I second the plastic bezel protectors - there's been more than one person start a thread this year asking about them, so obviously there's a niche in the market! Then again, there's people covering their watches with new stickers and some worried about washing their hands while wearing the watch, so...PT Barnum is having laugh!

I've never heard of anyone worried about washing their hands while wearing a watch. Seems very strange. I know about not taking a shower with the watch on or not using regular slope to safeguard against soap scum. I also know if you use protective stickers like me, you certainly want to wash the watch everyday or every other day!

Sorry you do not know what you are talking about, respectfully. Brand New Old stock with stickers on various models are thousands more. Brand new unworn with stickers with watches that are currently in production are generally a few thousand dollars more, including the 116508, the 116500, rainbow daytona's,. Other brands with sealed plastic, double sealed, PP, can go tens of thousands more if they are double sealed with the plastic closed.

Ummm...no, you're wrong, buddy.

No. And once you remove you can't put them back. It cannot go back like when applied at the factory

Just go over to the parts section in the classifieds area here. It is literally a PT Barnum style sucker's paradise where you can buy what are free corporate trinkets for hundreds of dollars. Unreal...

Interesting.

I bought a number of Rolex boxes from Japan a few years ago. Asking prices have indeed gone up and Chrono24 does confirm this. Small boxes ask prices are over $300. Curious what they are actually getting as anybody can ask for the moon prices. Bay prices are all over the place.

But I don't see a huge demand on TRF for boxes as there are very listings in the Wanting to buy subforum.
