Today’s Rolex Advertisement
I enjoy seeing Rolex’s daily advertisement in the WSJ. It would be fun to see photos of their recent ads

Today’s Rolex Advertisement
And that’s pretty much the kind of advertising they’ve been doing for decades.
Absolutely nothing fancy. But it has sent the correct message even to people who never even actually stop to examine the reference of any particular ad simply by being consistent in their messaging. Rolex -> top papers -> successful people read these papers -> I have Rolex —> I successful Whenever a person reaches a certain level of success, and decides on getting a wrist watch to celebrate that success, no other brand comes to mind. It seems that these ads are paid for by different ADs, and sometimes by Rolex itself. But they’re always exactly the same. I wonder if Rolex goes so far as to dictate the very reference each AD is expected to feature when it’s their turn to pony up for a print advertisement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good old print adverts. It was a NatGeo magazine advert that lured me with the Polar ExplorerII.
Now I don’t have an print ADs to share. But for those who haven’t seen this YT posted a couple of months ago, here’s a gratuitous link: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

There’s a Rolex 1/4 page color ad branded to a different boutique or chain in the first section/print edition of the WSJ - EVERY DAY. It’s baffling. There are virtually no new Rolex watches available anywhere worldwide, as we’ve all discussed at depth here on TRF for the past year++. Especially the s/s variety. That’s a lot of money for exposure to an audience that cannot actually acquire the advertised watches.
Nice campaign, tho… |

Rolex should advertise that it is no longer the watch that is passed onto the next generation, it is the waitlist.

Same advert in this week’s Daily Telegraph here in the UK, only the watch was a blue dial DJ and the retailer Goldsmiths
