The Landlord Watch :)

Thought this was a bit amusing but looks like there is some truth in it.

The 116618LB/LN or 126618LB/LN seems to be referred to the landlord watch in some youtube videos and instragram posts I've seen. Did some more research on it and this theory kind of plays out.

Josh Flagg (million dollar listing LA) also wears a 116618LB

Fedrik Eklund (million dollar listing LA/NY) also wears a 116618LN

I am also very heavily involved in Real Estate and also wear a 116618LB and know several ppl in the real estate game wearing this watch.

Never really popped out to me until recently. Just thought that was kind of neat.

Anyone else in Real Estate and wear a full gold sub?

My watch

It seems to be the norm for those that want to show "they made it" in real estate, I've seen it in LA on some of their wrists.

I would prefer to call it the "door opener" watch.

Although to be clear. If I do I won't be posing like a store mannequin, looking like such a preening bell end and it'll just be something to go with my shorts & sandals. :)
Not you OP, those posed photos make me deeply uneasy. I personally can't stand the act of 'see my watch' wrist shakers. If you have the wherewithal to own a gold sub you are IMHO beholden to treat it as a frippery as if it's not there. Anything else is just gauche. :) just my two bob's worth.

Those photos I just randomly took from google. Not sure if you watch the show but you'll see them wear the watches every episode.

There is actually some very very very nice watches on that show.

I dont think its just the full gold bluesy but in Real Estate in general you always see guys wear nice watches whether its Rolex/AP/Patek. I know the Real estate agents I work with and the builders all have very nice watches themselves as well.

Very interesting though with the terminology that some ppl use regarding the landlords watch. LOL - I think its hilarious.

I have not seen the show. TBH, when I saw one for real I immediately thought 'WOW, Ya Dancer'. Tried it on and it felt great. That's the whole story for me and very much each to their own. I'm not into shows of wealth but this one defo flicked a quite visceral switch. :)

I hope for your sake he's not wearing what's come to be known as a "Landlord Suit"...I am not much of a TV watcher and even less so the reality type shows so I haven't seen this one. Do they always wear ladies suits?

Yikes. That’s the kind of stuff that always gave Rolex kind of a bad rep. It’s why I don’t watch these fake shows (or any TV any longer). It’s why I don’t wear my Rolex in the office.

Wearing a modern Rolex says noting anymore, doors won’t even squeak because of them.
Wearing the vintage generations is different story, because they are as special as their wearers.
I wear mine “a modern one” for myself and among family members who don’t give a sh…” about Rolex. My Tudor gmt is the one that accompany me when it’s business time.

Every single industry has its own codes and standards. Nothing surprising to see the 116618LB / LN be the watch of choice in real estate. Ten years ago, all the partners in my firm were wearing a Nautilus or Calatrava way before that was a thing and all the mid-level employees a Submariner. Just a tick in the box and a status symbol to show others you are on track or have made it. Nothing less, nothing more.

The show both NY and LA is entertaining. I find some of the over the top materialistic and vapid insecurities about image extremely funny. It’s almost sad how much some people invest their time, money and effort to care what others think.
The Real estate and cars and presentation of what they think is so important fun to watch. Not as bad as a Kardashian but it’s more of a parity than a reality show.

I’m a landlord and my vintage Sub is what I wear most of the time. No gold watches here.

I’ve seen the show (mind numbing entertainment) and agree…some very nice watches are showcased by the agents.

Definitely not a landlord watch.
Typically worn by those who work for the landlord.
Regardless, enjoy the bling.

Can’t believe people gave that other guy stick for posting his Amex statement but no issues with this. Did you accidentally post this on here instead of Instagram?

Josh and Fredrik have different styles (both fashion and real estate)… but there’s no denying both are very talented, knowledgeable, and fascinating. Both are also fairly skilled negotiators.
