Anyone else prefer a slightly undersized nato?

So you may have seen my earlier post about my new , and this is just a follow up to see if I’m crazy.

I have 22mm NATO’s and 20mm ones. This watch takes a 22, but I seem to far prefer the look of the 20s. I can’t find any posts about undersized NATO’s, so I’d love to get some opinions.

Lastly, I am aware of the classic Bond “way” undersized NATO and that’s not what I’m suggesting here.

The pics below are 20s, but if I ever have custom leather NATO’s made in the future, I’d probably opt for 21s.

And the single biggest reason why this is a very bad idea is that because the straps can move sideways it could pull your Springbar out and the watch comes off.

While I suppose this is possible, it’s highly unlikely.

Ok, then why ask for opinions if you’re so certain?

I said I suppose it’s possible. I’m curious about aesthetic opinions. No need to be that way about it. I’m personally not concerned about efficacy.

It doesn't look good either.

And yes, there is a higher chance that the bar could/will move and will pop loose. Your loss in the end if it gets lost or damaged.

Sorry, I generally don't like nato or straps. So, a NO for me.

It works for a watch with fixed bar design quite well. A good example is Cabot Watch Co. some of their fixed bar watches come with undersized natos.

With actual spring bars, the exposed spring bar mechanism is an eye sore.

Just looks fudged and sloppy sorry.
I wouldn’t suggest buy the wrong width just because you can.
Springbars by their design and relative difficulty to access aren’t meant to be seen.
Just my 2P.

Personally I don't like the look if I'm being honest. But the bigger issue for me would what Hub6152 mentioned in post #2

i tend to oversized my nato on most of my watches ,
unless you have a very tiny frame, then wider is the way to go

Actually prefer 1mm wider. Adds stability to watch head so more comfortable.

I don't actually like the look, but I think it looks "cool" ax it kinda says "yeah, I've kinda made an effort, but not really bothered" if you see what I mean.. (?)

I don't care for NATO straps in general and would wear an alarm clock on a neck chain before I'd wear one...it's just not my style. But I do see some that look good. That just plain looks like it doesn't fit.
