Sub on oysterflex

Would like to put my sub on oysterflex, just for fun, and a new look.

You guys know who sells a nice oysterflex strap with clasp?

If some of you are rocking the look, pics would help this thread alot.

Thanks in advance

I’d try it.

I just picked up a 41mm sub and been wanting to put on oysterflex strap. But who makes the endlinks for the new 41mm subs? I’d already reached out to smartyjones and he doesn’t do them. Any ideas??

Rolex sells them, but bit difficult to get. You can find them (OEM ones) here once in a while.

Why not skip the endlinks (similar to the yachtmaster on OF)? It looks fine without them.

What’s the lug width on the Oysterflex sky dweller? Is it 22mm? I think that it’s 22mm on the YM42? I also think that it’s 20mm on the YM40 and Daytona. The YM40 doesn’t use end links (from what I’ve seen), so I don’t know if you’d need that “seamless” look per se (the case on the YM40 seems capable of fitting a bracelet if a bracelet version existed). By the sub41 has a 21mm lug width, so I’m not sure if any of the existing oysterflex bracelets would fit it (without a 1mm gap).

Rolex has no need to offer a cheaper version sadly (say retail of 7k), and the YM42 oysterflex with its black bezel makes me hazard a guess that Rolex would be more inclined to offer the Sub41 on oysterflex in yellow gold only (given that the YM40 is pink gold). But, hey, I’m probably wrong…

End links: Smarty end links.

Oysterflex: Secondary market at a big markup, or your AD if you have a really good relationship. They are not supposed to sell them to you unless you have a watch that came with them.

Clasp: AD or RSC (or secondary market), but be prepared to explain why you don't have the one that came with the watch.

YM42 lug width is 21mm

Sky-d is 22mm

I ordered the YM42 OF for my Sky-d and the width was too short, so I exchanged for the PM Sky-d OF and it fit perfectly.

In theory the YM42 OF should fit the 41mm Submariners.

I helped a follow TRF member with the OF straps for this Sub 40mm and the gap isn't that bad:

Agree with the above.

I tried ordering a spare clasp for my BLNR, and was told they are on an exchange basis only now.

Wait times are anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks for ordering parts from an AD if they can order it. I know this, as I recently ordered a 69200 and OF straps as well as a spare screw and spring bars and it took 8 weeks to arrive to the AD. (still waiting on the spring bars and screw)

I’d just get one of the Everest or rubberB straps that you can fix the Sub clasp from your bracelet onto. Much more cost effective, IMO.

Example of an Everest strap on my old LB, if helpful.

I saw someone put rubber on his explorer 39mm and it looked really good. I think that the rubber just doesn't suit the sub because...

The gloss black of the dial and bezel are in-congruent with the matte black of the strap. It's why the sub doesn't look good on rubber, and the YM (matte dials matte bezel) look great.

Really makes me want to get a crafter blue strap for my pelagos.
