TT YG/SS blue sub or TT RG/SS yachtmaster?
Moving my collection around. Going back and forth on these two. Not sure how I feel about TT watches and generally prefer RG to YG. The RG/SS yachtmaster is interesting but the YG/SS blue sub is growing on me and seems to be more of a classic. Any thoughts?

I am biased, but the bluesy is the way to go. The blue bezel is mesmerizing, the dial goes from blue to black to light blue. The YG to me really isn’t that “yellow”, pretty dark and classy looking. It is more classic, probably the most or one of the most popular TT watches and Rolex in general. Out all of the watches I have had, it is the only one that gets complements.

The TT bluesy was my 1st Rolex & I sold it after 1 year with no regrets - sure the dial definitely is really nice but as a wearable, practical everyday piece it looks a lot better in photos than in real life

I’m somewhat the opposite. I always thought bluesy pics looked ok, just ok. The. I tried one on and was hooked. I think IRL it’s stunning.

Well yeah, wouldn’t want it as my only, but it is better in real life than in photos.

The blue dial on the sub does it for me.

The TT YM is nice, I could wear one. The TT blue Sub is stunning, I had to have one!
Rolex' yellow gold is not as bright as you might think, they seem to have moved from light yellow (2N) to yellow (3N) in recent years, i.e. they apparently put more copper in it, although not as much as in rose/pink gold (4N) of course. I actually prefer the case design of the YM with curvy and rounded edges, it's a work of art next to the slab profile of the Sub. I own a YM 116622 and I love it. However, compared to the YM 126621, I find the dial and colour combo in the blue TT Sub considerably more striking. It's such a beautiful execution to me. The Bluesy is a classic, it's been around for a while, but I have no doubt the YM is here to stay and will also become one. A final consideration perhaps is the fact the 126613lb might appear a bit louder than the 126621. I don't mind either way but some people do. If money was no object, I would own both, one for the spring/summer, one for the fall/winter. |

The TT Subs from yesteryear are always the cheapest.....that tells you they aren't THAT popular. TT looks a bit dated now to my eyes...I'm sure its likely to be back in fashion one day soon though. All gold....well....medallion man.

the bluesy is my first and only rolex presently. I wear it daily and it makes me smile everytime i look at it. I don't think you could go wrong with either piece, but my vote goes to the bluesy

Of the two, I’d choose the TT Sub. I’m not a big fan of the TT YM though. Have you checked out the TT GMTII? I really think hits the TT sweet spot.

IMO, it’s not just the most beautiful TT, it’s the most beautiful Rolex!
