First Rolex - DD WG Olive Green Dial
Quick story regarding my adventure finding this piece.
I have an existing relationship with a local Authorized Dealer. I purchased a TT DateJust 36 for my wife a few years ago. Multiple pieces of Jewelry since then every year. Though I personally had not started a watch collection at that time. Fast forward and I am celebrating a huge milestone event. Achieved a promotion to the most senior engineering level for my role at this company. The culmination of 20+ years of work Decide to check out the AD's to start looking for a Day-Date. Though looking for white gold as in technology, I could not wear yellow gold to the office every day. I was surprised that all of the cabinets were totally empty. Spoke to my SA which I have a good relationship with, and was told it had been this way for quite some time. Let them know regarding my milestone event and was put on "the list". Though that was 7 months+ ago. Looking at the future availability, and the chance that Rolex would raise prices I began to look into the gray market and follow it for this watch. I browsed DavidSW last week and found that they had the exact watch I was looking for, unworn, box and papers, hangtags, etc... After speaking with their sales associates on chat, I pulled the trigger based on the feedback from this forum that this is a very reputable seller. Watch basically arrived 24 hours later. Immaculate condition, and recently dated papers led me to believe this watch went from the AD to David in a short time frame. The customer service was outstanding. Watch was overnight delivery. I discovered the box was missing the day-date manual. Contacted David, and he sent me the manual the very next day overnight. Long story, though the current conditions the gray market provides better customer service then the AD's from my experience. Love the watch. Wearing it every day. Could not speak more highly of DavidSW. |

Your AD must not be a very good one to never ask if you wanted a Rolex through all those years of doing business together. To me, that’s also bad customer service too. They probably hoped you didn’t want one but almost every AD is happy to sell the garbage overpriced jewelry. Even when you bought your wife’s Datejust, they should have inquired to help you out as well.

Stunning! Congratulations and nice to see a Tesla owner wearing a true mechanical piece and not a smartwatch.

Sorry to hear that the AD was not able to accommodate you. To give perspective on how the situation, can you gives the date your watch was originally sold and the warranty date activated?

Nice watch, and Nice taste. I put down a deposit of 20000$ to special order this one back in April(Same city as yours) and did not get it yet. W/G perfectly matches the green dial and I did not want to follow the Rose Gold hype. My next grail would be the meteorite dial with baguette diamond hour marker, another beautiful dial perfect for white gold.

David is a top tier dealer.. And I saw that watch on his website, the markup from retail wasn't bad at all, given the fact that unless you spent wildly at your AD, you're not getting this watch. Well done, you got a good deal.
