DJ 41 1 1/2 to 2yr wait?
Today, I received a response from from an AD where I have a purchase history (1 Rolex). He advised that for a SS DJ 41 fluted jub white stick, 1 1/2 to 2 years.
A few months-in todays times- yes. This response sounds preposterous to me. Has anyone heard of a wait this long for a DJ41? |

That means your ad hates you. Find a new place to do business. 2 years for a dj is obscene. I got 3 dj in the past 6 months

Yup that’s nonsense if you have history. Frankly seems like nonsense even if you don’t.
That said, many ADs under promise and over deliver. Unless they’re asking for a down payment, can’t hurt to put your name down while you keep looking. |

I think part of the longer waits, varies from one AD to the next, and the region your in. I'm on a longer wait for a pretty similar watch, SS Datejust 41, smooth bezel, on Jubilee, stick dial. Also, in my experience, requesting this model in a specific setup, adds to the wait. I've been offered this watch, but with different features, but ended up turning it down. I'm thankful my AD offered me the watch, but since this will be my first Rolex, I'm willing to wait for exactly the one I want.

In May of 2020, a Oyster bracelet, smooth bezel, white stick dial was in my AD's inventory, I called the first day after the stores opened again, my SA sent me a pic, and I actually waited until "going to take a look at it" that following Saturday. I took it home, just to trade it in for a Jubilee/blue stick/fluted bezel version. My SA told me there was one coming in and it arrived within just 1 week of the initial message that one was on the way. To say that I was very lucky with my DJ41's is an understatement. Granted, this is 7 months ago, but I still can't believe that the watch you're asking for is 1.5 - 2 years out!
Good luck acquiring one, hope you will get it very soon!

If i had to wait 2 years for a Sub i would go elsewhere. For a DJ, it’s absurd. You could very likely find another AD and get it well under that timeline. Or, as others mentioned, check the grey pricing. If it’s reasonable, i would probably pay the premium and have it by the weekend.

Find a different dealer. He does not want your business.

The Trusted Seller route is the way to go on this watch. Not much of a premium and you can have it tomorrow. Good luck.

I'm confused? How can this one AD know when they will receive a particular reference, when it's been said AD's don't know what's in the box they receive each delivery....?
PL, I don't think he knows. Just a method to slow the phone calls, emails and or other contacts they bombarded with every day. I will add, I recently started a new and great relationship with Rachel @ Benari Jewelers. I'm looking forward to my next purchase there!!! |

I ordered a fluted/jubilee/slate DJ41 in Jan and it arrived in April. BUT, I have since been told by 2 ADs that Rolex has now closed orders on DJ41s. In other words, they are back to the "you get what we send you" model. So if that's the case I don't see how any AD could really give a solid timeline. They might get a DJ41 tomorrow, but in the exact configuration you want? Who knows. Could be a year or more...

My local retailer wouldn’t take an order for a DD; had no idea when he’d be able to get one for me.
One phone call, a trip to the bank, and the watch was in my hand the next day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

The absolute craziest sign of the times is you can't even order full PM pieces anymore and they are apparently limiting how many a given dealer receives in a year. I had thought selling the PM pieces was Rolex's ultimate goal given the extra margins so it's really striking that those are being rationed now as well. |

DJ 41 1 1/2 to 2yr wait?
Wow, that’s crazy for sure. First time I inquired for the DJ 41, 2019 or late 18 if I remember, the watch was sitting there in the case waiting someone to take it. Was a beautiful blue / sticks and they had it both on jubilee and oyster.

That’s two years from your life that you’ll never be able to get back. Life is short don’t play the A.D. games.

It’s normal. I have a good relationship with my AD with whom I have bought several Patek dress and sport watches. However, I have still not been allocated a Daytona or a Datejust 41. During my most recent visit my SA told me I will likely have to wait 2 years for a fluted Datejust 41 in any dial and bracelet. I still don’t have a single Rolex in my collection.
