Squeaky bracelet
Hi all…
Long term lurker, first time poster. A couple of months back I got a new SS Sea Dweller from an AD. Shortly after getting the watch I noticed that the bracelet was squeaking at the top of the watch where it meets the lugs. I contacted the AD who said this sometimes happens with new watches and should stop eventually. Two months on and it is still happening. I returned to the AD today and was told they would have to send it back to Rolex and it could take up to 8 weeks to get my watch back. Has anyone experienced this squeaking and if so how did it get resolved? Thanks in advance Waxy |

It's pretty common that the bracelet squeaks for a while. It will go away. I wouldn't worry about it.

I haven’t really experienced this myself but it makes sense that RSC would be the best ppl to sort it out and yes it can take some time. I know it’s frustrating to wait so long just to be able to buy a watch and then once you have it having to send it off. Maybe if you would like to buy another watch explain the situation to your A.D. in a very friendly way and let them know that you absolutely do not blame them at all, but is it possible that you could get your next watch allocated now before you send this one off?

Or maybe judging from the other replies it’s nothing to worry about? Honestly, I have never had a squeaky bracelet yet.

Common. Mine stops after a few month. Wash it with soap and water.

Have had it happen to a few new SS references in the past. Always went away after a few weeks/months. Don’t sweat it.

Now I’m imagining you’re in a boardroom giving a presentation for a billion dollar deal when the CEO of the other company says “get this guy out of here! His squeaky watch bracelet is driving me mad!”

Don't send it to Rolex, there's no need for that nonsense. Just about every SS Rolex I've ever bought has had a squeaky bracelet for varying amounts of time before going away. I've owned at least 30 brand new Rolex from AD's over the years so believe me when I tell you it's normal.

So the solution is: dip the watch in virgin ultra press tuscan olive oil from the western valley for 11 minutes 34 seconds. Upon removing wipe down with a east african wild bull Chamois. Wash with givenchy shower gel. You should be good to go…
Alternatively, wear the watch a few weeks…

Please go get your watch back. You’re asking for trouble by having them take it apart for an issue that will disappear on its own.
The squeaking will fade as you wear. It’s a sign of the excellent tolerances that Rolex has. |

My OP squeaked for about a year, but I think it went longer because I swim with it.

When I bought my 126660 it also had sweeping but about 6 months of wearing it daily it went away. Would just keep on wearing it and not worry about it.

Yup, they do that. I had one that was quite loud, friends / coworkers would actually ask what was squeaking LOL. I gave it a good wash with water and dawn dish soap a few times and it stopped shortly thereafter. It may have stopped at that time on it's own, or the washing helped, dunno. It's not something I would be concerned enough to ship to RSC for if it was mine.
