Icon14 Major incoming (first in the US?) 116598 TBR the new “Eye of the Tiger” Daytona

Just picked up and I love it. My AD was kind enough to offer this to me and it was a surreal experience seeing this for the first time in person. I was told only around 5 will hit the US and it’s an one time production run. The previous 2019 oysterflex version is also discontinued.

I know people have mixed feelings about this watch but I personally see it as a piece of functional jewelry that will be passed down to my children one day. The gem setting is simply exquisite and the quality of the stones impeccable. Also realized this could be the very first yellow gold Daytona on oyster *bracelet* that has the newer 40.5mm maxi style case with the thicker crown guards and downward curved lugs (it’s about time!)

While the rainbow was my original grail, I think this one tops it for me now personally due to the combination of YG, the unique design of the pave dial, and white diamonds, which I think is a lot more wearable.

Hope you all enjoy the photos!
Cheers and best wishes to you all

Would it be uncouth to know a ballpark $ figure for that masterpiece?

I will understand if you’d rather not answer. I guess others will also be curious.

Interesting piece for sure. All that matters is that you love it.

I’d love to know what else you have in your collection to be allocated such an amazing piece.

I would probably blow 300k on a different watch but hey, I’m extremely happy for you that you’re in a position to buy such a big piece. Congratulations on the watch and your success and living the dream.

Wow! Not quite my style, but certainly an attention grabber. Glad you love it and congrats!

I’d be interested to know what kind of AD gets pieces like this. Do they make pitches to Rolex USA based on potential customers, or does RUSA just send them to the “major” ADs (e.g., Rolex Boutique Fifth Ave NYC, Rolex Boutique Rodeo Drive LA, etc.) and let the AD decide whom to allocate to?

It looks fabulous in the sunlight! Thank you for sharing with us!

Can you explain the process of the acquisition? Did your SA or AD need to apply to Rolex on your behalf to allocate the reference to you? Or was it up for grabs already at your AD?

I don't care what it looks like. If only 5 are hitting the USA and I'm offered one, I'm jumping on it! Congratulations, that's an amazing acquisition. Thank you for sharing it with us.
