What next for the collection?

Have a chance to make a new Rolex purchase and looking for your thoughts on what I should go for next. This would be from an AD so retail. Currently in the collection I have:
- SS DJ (silver dial on jubilee)
- 116600 SD4k
- SubC no date (new model)
- Tudor Black Bay Harrods

Have a few pieces I like but need some direction! Some ideas:
- Explorer I (was my first Rolex - traded it for the SD4k and would be nice to have one back in the collection)
- GMT root beer
- SS Sky Dweller (blue dial)
- Any other suggestions welcome (DD, etc.)

Daytona probably out of the question at AD. Thanks!

For me some gold, even if a two tone. But that’s just me :)

A chronograph is what you are missing.

Daytona preferably, but if not, there’s a lovely Tudor with a trace of gold, for around £4k depending on bracket / strap option. If you don’t buy it, I will. : https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watche...o/m79363n-0002

Agree. I'd add a TT Daytona white dial, but I'm likely in the minority. If not that, than bluesy or white TT DJ36. Some white or blue might be a good idea.

If not going to go TT, then Polar EX 2 or Pelagos Blue.

I would go Explorer I, or else OP36 with the dark blue dial.

Of your current collection, I kinda like keeping the DJ and the 116600 and dropping the other 2. From there I would add a chrono (maybe a speedmaster) and a GMT (I prefer the pepsi on jubilee but the blue skydweller is also amazing). And be done. The exp 1 is great but i would find it hard to pick it over the above foursome: DJ, SD4k, Speedy, GMT/SkyD.

I feel like if you think you could get the blue SS SD that asking for a daytona is totally reasonable.

Just my $.02

Sounds like you need a GMT. Pepsi or BLNR the obvious choices but the Tudor Pepsi or Polar Explorer could work nicely too.

Of those you listed, I'd go for a GMT if SS Daytona is out of the question. Seems like you have some decent spending history. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask for the Daytona?

That looks pretty amazing on that strap.

Might be some extra work days in my future for that one!

Blue Sky Dweller is amazing. How about a TT Daytona. They're a little easier to source than SS or PM.

Agree if SS Daytona isn't on the cards, SS Blue Sky-D unlikely to be too. Depending on the size of your AD, they only get one or two each year in blue - probably double that in white and black SS daytonas.

This is sensible advice - which I for one am utterly incapable of following. (Greetings fellow watch fanatics!).

Love your current collection, love all of your ideas for a next watch. Also like all of the ideas shared on list, including the two tone ideas.

For me, Daytona ticks a lot of boxes to fill out your collection. I personally would (and have done myself) put your name in for either a white or black SS Daytona, and take whichever comes in first. That, or the Explorer 1. Can’t go wrong with that classic.

Good luck!

Nice collection, personally I would love to get a RootBeer in my collection, tried one on in an AD a few weeks back and totally fell in love.

Good luck and enjoy.

I think the CHNR would be a nice add, but if a blue sky comes your way, well...that would be hard to turn down.

in order Sky dweller, GMT Pepsi or root beer - are IMO stunning compared to other GMT options
If you want Chronograph- TT Daytona easier to get probably, if you don’t like gold and prepared to wait and hope for SS , then wait, otherwise If you don’t mind non Rolex then consider omega moon watch older model which you can still get brand new at good clear out price
