My Ultimate Frankenwatch
My ultimate frankenrolex would be 36 WH blue dial (lume hours) day date with the bezel off of a turn-o-graph, red second hand and red date and black day dial. I want a 36 WG day date eventually, I have a Turn-o-graph currently. I just love the look of the red date and second hand and the rotating bezel.

Nice mock-up of yours with the sub bezel. If I knew how to use photoshop I’d try to do a mock-up of mine.

If anything like that were to come to fruition, I could envision:
-Return of DJ ToG 36 (probably 41 as option as well) -Offered in PM, w/OF band option -Rotating bezel in matte ceramic, much like insert of PM YM bezel, but all one piece (not an insert) Don't think you'd ever see a DD ToG, but who knows... |

Wow. Works.
Would love to see the smaller day-date crown on this and the Sd4K fully graduated bezel. This is a watch for timing the meeting, not the dive, and I love it! |

I almost like it too, maybe make the Bezel more towards the color of the dial. This will never happen, they won’t make the flagship of their line a cross between a dress and a sport watch.

https://www.oris.ch/en/watch/aquis-d...-07-8-22-05peb What would be very interesting is the addition of a day function to, say, the YM (hey, could be useful if lost at sea…). |

Maybe one of you would know the answer to this. Would it even be possible to swap out the fixed bezel on the DD with a rotating bezel?

I like the above ideas and the Sub Day Date mock up. Personally I would like a larger Chronograph with a Grande Date.

I did a poor job on the color on this idea ... but I really like the new OP 41mm yellow, but I'd like to see it on a more sporty model ... maybe the Exp II?

Would be interesting to see that movement make it into a Professional watch. I would think that it would see the demise of the steel/TT versions, as Rolex won't break the PM-only precedent for that movement. Would also say bye-bye to the 37, as Rolex isn't known for different features on different size versions of its watches (as Tudor does with the Glamour, for example).
Would certainly be an interesting way to move the YM upmarket and finally complete its differentiation from the other Pro models (Sub in particular). And it would likely see the return of PM bracelets for RG and WG. Oh, and while they're at it: Reintroduce YG version, with blue dial and matte blue ceramic bezel, with either bracelet or dark blue OF. |
