I’m at a crossroad - help please…
Good morning, I’m at a crossroad.
I recently purchased a FP Journe PT Havana Lune that I’ve been waiting for. I’ve also been waiting for the new AP ROO 43mm ceramic bezel black dial, either steel or RG. Leaning to the steel. My AP AD has informed me both choices have arrived. I can only afford one watch - FPJ or AP ROO. Which would you choose for a one and only watch - FPJ Havana or AP ROO ceramic bezel? Thanks! |

Easy choice, VERY easy.... Keep the FPJ. The AP will be around making new pieces for a long, long, long time.

Coincidentally, I have been rotating between a 42 ROO and a FPJ this week. Most of the days I was wearing the ROO since it was rugged. But every time I looked down on my FPJ, it brought a smile to me. The ROO just feels like another tool watch like a Sub albeit nicer. Of course the new 43 ROO is likely to be much nicer than mine. Since you already own the Lune, does it speak to you? It seems like something is missing for you to consider selling it and get the ROO. |

Totally different watches, it really depends on your wishes, existing collection.
Somehow I would choose the FP over that ROO. Both very nice but so different.... |

Thanks for your replies. I had a small collection until a year ago when I sold everything and took a break from watch buying.
I like both the FPJ and ROO for different reasons, but at this price point, only one will survive the cut. FPJ - so classy and unique. ROO - so cool. And so I must pick the one that will have the lasting impression for many years to come. Thanks Last edited by ScottC; 22 October 2021 at 10:14 PM.. Reason: Added verbiage |

Curious. Why? I for one am not crazy about brown dials. Not ever on any piece in any brand but it especially doesn’t look good on this reference in my opinion. But regardless of the color of the dial why this particular reference over an RG ROO?

It depends on which you want and like more.
As an owner of both FP and AP watches, I prefer the Havana FP over any of the ROOs. |

Depends on you lifestyle - If you work require a suit and tie then I would go FPJ, otherwise ROO. Really cant go wrong with either

I like the Journe a lot more and, moving forward, I think it will be the more difficult watch to obtain.

I like AP, but FPJ and it’s not even close (for me).

Well, I’ve decided to do both, the FPJ and ROO, life’s too short. Thanks all for your comments!

AP, no question about it. Plus if you're asking about it that means you haven't bonded with the Journe.
Don't be blinded by hype, buy what you like. |

Try to swap out the alligator strap on the FPJ and you can even use it daily. I did for mine and am happy to use it with jeans and t-shirt. |

Thanks and will do…
I have four straps in total. Caramel, brown/gray, burgundy and electric blue?

Without a doubt the FPJ for me. But factor in your whole collection, style and what you would wear more often and enjoy…

For me, the FPJ without question.
You rarely see them. You’ll have another shot at the ROO |

Both is always best. Would have a hard time letting the Havana go for an offshore. Nicely done
