Scottsdale and Phoenix AD’s

Headed out on vacation. Looks like there are 2-3 AD’s in the area. Rolling the dice and wishfully hoping to pop in and land a Batman or Pepsi.

Anyone have experience at any of these places?

Pic for effect….maybe…just maybe I’ll be walking out with one.

That right there is hilarious. You would be better off going rainbow colored unicorn hunting up in the Sedona mountains.

The ADs in Scottsdale are dryer then the weather. My uncle lives there and he has been waiting for a Yachtmaster Rhodium for a long time.

I can't even get a look at a Tudor Chronograph in the Phoenix area.

Spend your time as you like, but your odds are zero. Having visited ADs on vacation during this shortage and finding it to be a complete waste of time, I would personally recommend just enjoying your vacation. But good luck.

You have a better chance finding one on the street

If by “Scottsdale and Phoenix” you mean “Fairy Land and In Your Dreams,” why then yes! Should be easy.

There is a higher chance of one in the bushes outside the AD

As you know, these watches are very hard to come by unless you have a prior relationship. In a market like Phoenix they have a large customer base that the AD will notify them once the watch comes in.

I agree with the comment above. I would personally recommend enjoying your vacation. Cheers!

Robert C. Wesley in Old Town Scottsdale will have nothing and probably tell you it's a 3-5 yr wait. However, they sometimes have good preowned stuff in the window. Last time I saw a pre-owned Sub there, it was very reasonably priced. If you go there, there's a decent watchmaker across the street that sometimes has some good pre-owned Rolexes. Can't recall their name. And about 200' farther up the street is Estate Watch & Jewelry. And they have a huge selection of pre-owned Rolexes. They charge top dollar, but they have the biggest selection in the area. A few miles farther up Scottsdale Rd. is Oliver Smith and they usually have a decent selection, but also charge top dollar. Ditto for ED Marshall, also on same road going north. And a few miles farther up the road is Hamra, an AD, but they'll have nothing. If they have a pre-owned, it will be ridiculously priced. Coffin & Trout in Chandler is the one that called me last week to offer me an SD43. I'm sure it's not there anymore, but they have a decent selection of Tudors in stock. Good luck.

Please do not waste your precious vacation time. Get some good rounds of golf, and enjoy your time off. Save yourself some dignity.

I'd typically recommend RC Wesley however as mentioned above it's very unlikely they'll have any stock, it's really not worth your time. Great store and wonderful people though.

Enjoy the vacation, plenty to see around the Scottsdale / PHX area. I wouldn't waste any time hunting for a GMT unless you like playing the lotto.

Go to the Cornish Pasty restaurant in downtown old Scottsdale, and try Grimaldi's Pizza there too. Two big malls, I like Issacs Jewelry, but don't think they have Rolex unless used. This might sound odd, but they have a cool butterfly house at the Phoenix Aquarium that my parents and wife loved, might want to check that out too. And we will all be impressed with a Rolex climbing the Camelback Mountain pics....

I live in the Scottsdale area and have for over 40 years.
They all have nothing that would be a new reference.
A few used around, as mentioned.
Going on a hunt here is just like the rest of the country - a complete waste of your time.
Enjoy your vacation and forget finding Rolex. You do not need to add depression.

you will have the same amount of money you went into the store with when you leave. Unless they sell panerai or omega, you’re coming up watchless. They have no reason to sell you one.
