Penny for your thoughts on these Pepsi bezels

Considering purchasing one of these (label them TOP/BOTTOM).
Both D serials, but different bezels. Can you comment? Could one of them be a replacement/service bezel? If so, what year would that bezel be from.

Yes, I will reach out to sellers, but would like some background info first in case I get push back. I believe the top is period correct for the D serials.

Happy Friday

The aluminium inserts were made to be easily changed on watches like the 16710, get all 3 inserts then 3 different watches for very little money, insert cost from Rolex themselves around $75 or less

First insert looks correct for a D serial. Second looks like a fake serif insert.

Calling fake on 2nd one too. 22 should be aligned to the curvature of the inner circle.

Yep bottom one isn’t even a good generic bezel.

Are we certain the top insert is genuine? It may be the picture angle, but looks like “hooked 2” — especially on the 22. EDIT — okay, I think it may be just an odd angle / photo on the first one.

The second one I concur, that’s not what a serif bezel should look like.

I would be more worried about the watch than if the insert is not a genuine Rolex, inserts easily replaced for genuine one for around $75 or less from Rolex themselves

I’ve never had a n eye for this stuff honestly.

My advice to the OP is to buy the seller first. All your worries about authenticity will be answered and you’ll have a worry free ownership experience

If it's not a current watch, a conversation about horrible AD's, waiting lists, bundling, or grey market dealers it will have little attention in this forum. You already know this.
