What are you doing with your watches upon your demise?

We don’t have any children. I have two younger brothers and a bunch of nephews. I want my wife to keep my Patek Calatrava.

I’m working on figuring all this out as we speak. Whatever happens to it, it will not be sold but will find another wrist to enjoy it for hopefully many years.

Why, do you plan on dying anytime soon?

silly boy. everyone knows as soon as you die, the cabal shows up, secures all the timepieces, and sell them to grey dealers out of the back of the hearse.

(decide where you want them to go. if you want them treated differently than the rest of your estate, add a rider to your will)

Maybe give a few to anyone close to you who would appreciate a reminder of you to perpetuate your legacy? And what are you doing with your other assets?

This is a great idea, I can't wait to give my kids a Rolex at my funeral. I bet the tears wont be as bitter then lol. Plus any legacy left by a rolex is a legacy worth continuing

It’s like any other asset I suppose. Obviously it all goes to my wife. She can do whatever she wants at that point. I’ve given her the names and contact info of some trusted friends that can help her sell them if she wants or she can obviously just keep them, give them to my kids, whatever.

Very smart. With everything that is unique and valuable, make sure your heirs have resources in a central location that they can easily and readily access to help them make these decisions. A binder with contact info, itemizations of pieces owned, or whatever you can think to help them with the process will really make a difference.

If I live long enough I will liquidate all but one. The last one which was an inheritance piece will go to an heir.

Make provisions to have them thrown off the nearest mountain. Some lucky hiker will score. I think I'll leave the keys and titles in the collector cars and park them on the street with "free" signs.

My wife and I have no kids either. My wife's rings will go to our only niece and I will leave each of our 4 nephews with a very nice watch.

Ideally, you will have a heads up on your demise, during which time you can either sell your watches or identify those people who you want to have them and pass them on while you are still alive.

Our children and grandchildren will get them, whatever they might be by then. They can treasure them, wear the hell out of them, sell them or give them away as they see fit. It won't make any difference to us.

Sell off the entire collection as i get older (except for 1 which I’ll probably wear to the end of the line). No children to worry about here.

Gotta try to time it just right so the last check I write is to the undertaker… and it bounces

Gotta hope they don't dig you up and check you for rings and gold fillings.

Usually these things go to family members.

My percussion/drum setup is being donated to a world-renown percussion college.
