In what year Rolex introduced the cool looking Chapter Ring?
I am curious... my guess is 2008.

I think Chris is right
My early Z serial Daytona did not have the engraving rehault, but my brother's late 2007 Z has the ROLEX ROLEX engaving

I believe it varies by model. My Z series DJ has papers dated 1/07 from the AD and it has the engraving. I have also seen a D series DJ with the rehaut engraving. It didn't appear in Subs until later, I believe in the M series. My Z series GMT does not have the engraving.

It appeared on different models at different times. The Z series in the really hot sellers and in the M series for most others.
My Z series Daytona does not have it while all my M series watches have the engraving. The orginal idea was to make it more difficult for the fakers to copy and to provide the Serial at a glance, but this has not really worked. Copies have the engraving and the serial too. |

Chapter ring?......I think you're referring to the rehaut or outer flange. The chapter ring has not changed in most Rolex models in the last 35 years or so: http://montresuisses.blogspot.com/20...hour-ring.html http://montresuisses.blogspot.com/20...ut-flange.html

My Z Day-Date has it, but my Z Yacht-master did not. Somewhere in the 2006 area though.

My S/S Z-series Daytona has the engraving on the rehaut, though my Z-series TT Blue Sub doesn't.

My Platty is a Z-62XXXX which would make it a mid to late 2007 and it has the inscription on the rehaut ring.
