Just an opinion

I understand that this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to his, or her opinion, so I am giving mine, some may agree, some may not. I really don't have time to care.

Have some of the posts seen regularly on this forum gotten just plain ridiculous? "Can I wear my watch in the water? Do you wear your watch on one wrist during the week and the other wrist on weekends? Which watch should I buy, wear, take on vacation, keep, sell, trade, etc. Fist, or open hand for wrist shot? What watch was this or that celebrity wearing"? The list could go on and on, probably for days.

This used to be an informative, useful forum but lately a large percentage of the posts just leave me shaking my head in disbelief.

As mentioned above, just an opinion.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but this Forum is for entertainment value and we are all having fun. If you want a more serious conversation maybe checkout the technical section!!!

I agree with you, some of them seem so trite as to appear absurd, but if someone wants to ask a question, regardless of how lame it might seem, is that not their right?

That nailed it in one.

The irony is that I've lost count of the number of complaints I've heard, just like the one in the first post.

I don't disagree, it is their right, as it it mine to answer their question, or give my own opinion. I just think people need to think before they post and in many instances they could answer their own question.

Hey I like my threads...

Now do I buy soldier toys or Star Wars Clone Wars figures for my 18 month old son when he reaches his 5th birthday?

Luckily, I can usually tell by the thread title that there is nothing to see there, and I can move on.

That leaves me out in the cold. I can think......I can post......but, I can't do both at once. For baseball fans there is a Babe Ruth statement hidden in my reply.

Exactly, I wanted to see what type of responses this would generate.

I never said I wasn't having fun!

Go Italian! I recommend the Chicken Marsala, and Canoles for dessert.

You're welcome!

Thomas,

I would hang around for a while before making such conclusions - I think there is a good mix of serious and light-hearted posts. Do we need to constantly be educated and enlightened in every post? Probably not. IMO, there is a good mix here. Besides, if you don't like the post - it is only one 'back' button away!

This is wishful thinking and it won't alter reality. My advice to you is to be thankful you are a discerning person with a fair amount of cerebral wattage who can make the choice to respond or not to a given thread.

I don't disagree. I think that there's a fair amount of nonsensical posts as of late in terms of questions. That said, I believe there is a saying of there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. I have to admit, even though the questions are off, I would prefer people ask them. I try to get my students to ask even the stupid questions because my money is on another student having the same question. Thus, I can live with these questions, and if I don't like, I move on. I know that they will eventually no longer show up when I hit the New Posts button.

Right, the same person who originated this expression also told me my butt really wasn't the size of Albania.

I agree. I teach a lot of foreign pilots who are getting their multi-engine rating, and I have learned, that with the language and cultural differences; there are no stupid questions.

Thomas, I can't agree with you. The Open Discussion Forum participants have helped me deal with many burning issues including: acne, flatulence,
divorce, the financial crisis, weight loss, weight gain, relationships, travel, what recipes to try, how/why not to have kids, how to raise kids, which is the best soccer/baseball/US football team, ED etc.,
For technical/watch specific info' try the Rolex General Discussion section...

Speaking of which, Peter, when are you going to go bald? I believe that was next on our list.
