Rolex Size for women...
My wife was hesitant to wear a 36mm datejust b/c she thought it was "too big". Her opinion after trying the watch on is that the watch looks great and she would like wearing it. Perfect, problem solved. However, I wanted to ask the forum to see what the trends have been in women's watch sizes. I know over the years the traditional smaller sizes have been slowly going out of style and women are wearing bigger and bigger faces. Thoughts?

Trend is that women want the larger watches, even the desirable models like the Batgirl and a Daytona.

I prefer larger watches, and have worn a 40 mm sub, and owned a 36 mm OP. 36-40 is my sweet spot.

My girlfriend wants a 31mm TT Datejust w/ champagne dial (I think its the classiest "small" watch Rolex makes). And sometimes she wears my 36mm but it does look large. Basically looks like if i wore a DSSD.
Ideally on her wrist, the best size would be 31mm. |

Most of my female colleagues love larger watches especially Sub and Daytonas.
My wife on the other hand wouldn’t wear anything larger than 31mm.

I have plenty in the 40-42 range. Some larger Seiko divers. Just what I prefer.

We traded my wife’s 31mm datejust for a 36mm datejust. She likes it much better and it does look really nice.
No right or wrong here as some girls like the much smaller ones while some prefer Daytona’s and subs. |

Some women like the I’m wearing my Daddy’s watch look. Some don’t. Everyone should wear what they think looks best on their wrist.

As Morrissey once wrote, "some girls are bigger than others". I'm not an anthropologist, but I feel like this is the case with males too? In other words, it might make more sense to ask what watch a person with size X wrist should wear, but to try to generalize to an entire sex is pointless.
My wife (5'4", petite) loves her DJ31 and finds even a 36 looks ridiculous. My friend's wife is 5'9" and a 40 looks totally at home on her. And why wouldn't it? Many men are shorter than she is. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk |

Sometimes something comes along and people try it and like it and it sticks. Over analysing it is a bit pointless. People do (and wear) what they want, that's all. |

My wife only wears 36-40mm. She even wears sub and gmt sometimes. She thinks the 31 is way to small now

My wife likes watches over a large range of sizes. It's just a question of what looks right to her. If she thinks something looks right, it's right. She will be wearing a 34mm one day and a 45mm the next. They all look good on her.

All I know is my wife wears a 31mm DJ and it's the largest watch she has ever owned.
It fits her and suits her style perfectly. So much so that I can't imagine her ever contemplating wearing a larger watch. |

All depends on the lady, her outfit / occasion.

It really depends on the woman, but I’d say overall the trend of women wearing those 26mm watches is mostly on a huge downturn. Even my mom (around 75) has several 26mm rolex only wears her 36mm DJ. My wife also mostly wears either DJ36 or OP36. She does have a 34mm OP that she loves too.

My wife wear everything from 26 mm up to 42 mm. Rolex, Seiko, Omega. Typically it is about her outfit and what she is trying to do with it. The watch is a fashion accessory for the outfit. Apple watch when she is working or doing the daily runaround.
