“Last Breath” on Netflix
Great documentary on Netflix about saturation diving and the perils that are bound to this extremely dangerous career.
Saw the crown featured prominently in several of the reenactment scenes. Also an Omega Seamaster. I don’t doubt that they were actually worn at working depth (90m). But since the watches are covered by the sleeve of the dive suit during an actual dive, I can’t imagine they were very useful. (Observation from actual work footage which isn’t HD) The Rolex is worn by a controller and a dive medic, and the SeaMaster by the Diver on bell duty. Maybe Peter or another sat diver on the forum could give us insight as to how a mechanical dive watch is utilized during sat diving. Or is it just a novelty to remind you of home when you’re living in a cramped bell for 28 days |

Thanks Adam! I think I spotted that Seiko your wife did! I thought it was a pressure gauge at first but on closer inspection it was indeed a Seiko!!!! |

I would think that the Day/Date function on a lot of Seiko sat divers would be handy, too, for spending so many days submerged, though I'm sure they have a calendar, too

I just finished watching this unbelievable documentary! As a public safety diver I am at a loss for words what I just witnessed on that show. I highly recommend that everyone watch this documentary.
Thank you to the OP for posting about it!
