Which one should I get?

Curious what the popular choice is. I’m looking at buying a watch and just putting it away, As a long term hold. Would you buy the rose gold olive pres or the white gold gmt meteorite? Thanks in advance

If you're thinking of buying a watch just to put it away in a safe, then buy real estate or another type of investment.

Having said that, I would go with a the wg GMT meteorite. Like someone said above, can't go wrong either way

buy 1 bitcoin instead and you can buy both watches in 3-5 years

can't for the life of me understand buying and storing a watch for years when you can wear it and enjoy it and watch it appreciate ... lol

228235 to answer the question though. if it gets discontinued we already know the ceiling for a gold piece that's not off catalogue is 100k+ (green daytona)

SP500 Vanguard ETF will be better than the watch. That said, WG GMT.

There seem to be fewer GMT with meteorite dials available on the secondary market than there are DD everose green dials available. My feelings are that the GMT is made in very low numbers. The prices seem to be higher for the 228235 on the secondary market. Either piece would be great to hold. There seems to be more hype around the 228235 and most of these watches for sale on C24 seem to be stock photos of watches the seller doesn't have but will source if you are willing to pay. So it's the more hyped watch on C24. I personally would take the Day Date Everose green dial. My.02.

Go for white gold. I find rose gold so feminine.

Makes no difference. If you're buying it to put away you won't see it.

How long you gonna put it away for? Some stocks are keepers to be held for years, some are short term pump then dump. Since you invest in watches, probably would be wise to have an investing strategy.

Are you going to insure it? Where to store it? Cost of storage?

When do you intend to sell? What other uses do you have for your investment capital?

I’d personally do something a bit more promising as far as investing that particular amount of $$$.
But to answer your question……gmt

Bonkers when people are buying watches too 'put away'.

I really hope that this bubble bursts soon and life can get back to some level of sensibility, sadly I think that my hopes will be in vain.

Sorry if I sound like a noob but why not just wear it and enjoy it? If your plan is to sell it eventually wouldn’t you want to enjoy it while you had the chance to? What kind of depreciation in value are we talking about between good condition and unused? 5-10%?
