New diver
I currently have an IWC aquatimer chronograph (the La Cumbre s/e) and looking to get rid of this, as isn't the most practical of dive watches.
I do like the way it looks but am not over enamoured with the legibility of the chrono or the unsecured nature of the pushers. In terms of replacments, I'm torn between the Glashutte Original SeaQ Panorama date or the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Grande Date. Your thoughts are appreciated. Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk |

GO SeaQ would be my choice. The GO is a beauty.

Both are excellent watches- for me ( and I have a Blancpain bias), the Grande Date just takes it- I like the way BP simplified the dial, so as not to distract from the date window, and I prefer the contrast of the glossy, lumed, sapphire bezel with the matte brushed titanium case.
That said, the Sea Q is a stunner too, so no horrible outcome either way. Are you looking at the BP on the bracelet or the strap ?

I'd be looking at the seaq on a bracelet or the FF on the sail cloth.

The GO looks beautiful to my eye I’d love to see one in the metal

Tried both on yesterday.
It's tricky to pick between the two. Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk |

I like the SeaQ better. Just personal preference.

I love them both and have ordered the SeaQ but I might want to add a FF later. The only thing I dislike is the BP script on the side of the case, seems really blingy to me and I'm not sure I can get past it. I know some of the special editions like MilSpec don't have that but they are episodic and costly to acquire. So for now I went with the SeaQ, 95% in house and some really cool vids on YouTube demonstrating their Germanic craftsmanship!

I also meant to say that the folks trying to acquire a Sub and contemplating going grey should be looking hard at these and similar pieces which are available at good discounts new. I think it will happen over time as the Rolex bubble starts to become an albatross for both aspiring and existing owners. I'm not sure I could feel comfortable wearing a Pepsi GMT now that it is $30k, don't like the message it sends or the criminal magnetizing effect.
Of course if you can get a Sub from an AD with no hassle then it is a great watch but that isn't the case. Maybe I should have posted this in the Rolex sub-forum but I doubt it would be well received. |

I was in a similar position but couldn’t gel with the PCLs on the GO bracelet nor the arrowhead minute hand. Of the two I’d go BP- I ended up with the Bathyscaphe.

I like GO better. But it is too thin a bezel vs too thick a bezel comparison in my opinion lol.
I like the bathscape as a middle ground, but would need to try in as the 43 and thin bezel might seem like a plate for a dial in person. |

I went for the BP.
In the wrist it feels great, although the strap is quite short. And the lume is insane. Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk |
