Can anyone get Rolex service parts?

I recently purchased a Rolex deep sea sea dweller and the ceramic insert needs to be replaced. Can anyone please help me source one? I’d really rather not have to send the watch in for service

Even if you could find one it is in no way a DIY job.
The ceramic inserts are a different beast compared to the old style.

Only independent watchmakers with a parts account can order a one directly from Rolex. But you should expect they’d like to do the work - Rolex frowns on them becoming a hardware store.

Trusted eBay sellers may have the part you want at a super-inflated price. But then you risk a mismatched piece that came off a plain Submariner.

This is a very fiddly swap that runs the risk of snapping the new insert during installation. But you certainly can try it if you wish. Maybe try getting a cheap generic ceramic insert for practice?

The insert is an easily shattered item. Go with service from RSC.

Thanks for your input guys. I’m actually able to perform the work myself but I need the insert. I’ve been scouring the internet eBay etc but only found 1 for like $1100.00 was hoping someone in TRF had the hook up on parts or knew someone who does.

Parts like this will always demand a hefty premium on the market. The official price of this part is less than 200 dollars.

I'd suggest going to RSC, you will pay the official price for the part and about $100 for having them fit it. Unless there's more damage to be found...

It's actually quite cheap to get this fitted via RSC - wouldn't suggest doing it yourself.

I had a Batman serviced earlier this year and had the option to have the insert replaced due to a scratch on the insert. The watch was going to be serviced at my local AD until the AD was told by RSC they wouldn’t send out any inserts and the watch would need to be sent in and serviced by RSC to have the insert replaced.

Rolex seems to have inserts on lock down now, even to Rolex certified Watch makers located inside ADs in large Cities. Must be a fairly new policy?

That being said the charge for insert replacement was like $167. Pretty tough to beat.
