I'm very disappointed with Rolex>>>

I just do a dive with my Submariner and I was not sure how the crown works under water.
So I pull out my manual and try to find out how the TripLock working.

Damn no one told me that book wasn't waterproof and now it's damaged.

What to do? Should I buy a new one at Ebay or should I try to dry it in the oven?

Please give me some advises.

Jocke

Jocke:

The manual is definitely waterproof to a certain depth, depending on the year the manual was made.

Have you had the book pressure tested recently?

Jocke, what year is your manual and when was it last serviced? Are you sure it's authentic?

Don't put the manual in the dryer. Let it dry out in the open air, then iron it on low heat, with a little steam.

Is it still under warranty? I would take it back to Rolex and demand a new manual!

It is not the year the manual was made, it is where the manual was sold! Caribbean manuals are definitely waterproof, and generally rated for the same depth of the watch, whereas manuals sold in Sweden are rated for temperature. I thought you people were knowledgeable! !

Jocke,

I understand that next year at Basel, Rolex hopes to introduce a new manual that is not only waterproof, but is also voice activated. It may be delayed, however, as technical issues are keeping Rolex engineers up at night. When not working on the blue-red ceramic bezel problem, Rolex engineers are working on how to do the voice activation thing underwater in multiple languages.

As for your wet manual, any competent manual maker should be able to dry it out. I wouldn't let them refinish it, however, because that could lower its resale value.

Hope this helps.

Jocke, read the fine print:

The manual is only guaranteed waterproof to .0000000000001mm

I heard the only way to set the time underwater was by first removing the caseback while underwater. Then you use a toothpick to move the little gears around until the time is correct. Seal watch with seawater in it and wait for it to stop. Repeat...

Are you sure your manual is real? Check the serial number. I took mine to 330feet and it is still very dry. The water resistance is working on mine.
