Yacht-Master or 3 BB58s
I’ve been waiting since May ‘21 for the blue dial 126622 and still no word on when I can expect it to arrive. Now I’m considered using those funds to purchase 3 Tudor BB58s instead. I believe the blue dial shouldn’t be too hard to get but would probably have to wait for the new silver and bronze editions. The blue dial BB58 should hold me over until I can get my hands on the other 2.

Don't settle on the Tudors. You'll end up getting the YM later anyway.

100% definitely the Yacht-Master...one of the most stunning Rolex watches I have ever owned and wears like a dream. I have also owned the BB58 and there is just simply no comparison whatsoever.

Traded a YM 40 Platinum dial for a Omega 300M White Dial AND Tudor GMT. Having said that, no way I make that trade if I had the Blue Dial. Maybe purchase one pre-owned Tudor for daily wear, but would hold my funds for the YM.

Pick up the blue dial BB58 - either used or new. Hold off on the others.
When you get your YM you can either keep the BB 58 if you've fallen in love with it or sell it at not much of a loss. Seem to be quite a few used available just over 3K. This way you'll have something to 1 - hold you over 2 - experience a different watch 3- have a better basis of comparison when you get the YM. Just my 2 cents. |

Very different watches in my opinion. I own 2 YMs and they are among my favorites (SS/Rhodium and Everose 40).

I concur that owning 3 BB58s is a bit much, but I really do like my blue one.
The YM is pretty, but me personally, don't care for the bezel. It (at least, when I had one) shows a lot of scratches and is kind of monochrome. I'll bet you tire of it after a short while.

3 BB kinda unnecessary. I would go YM if you want a Rolex. 1 Black Bay if you want a Tudor

Why would you want 3 BB? Just to spend the money? If one, you should get the bronze just because it is kind of unique. But not the blue because if you really love the YM blue you will buy it sooner or later and then never use the BB blue.

I may be interested in getting a BB 925 (silver) at some point. I already have a couple of bronze watches from other companies. But not at the expense of skipping a YM (which I also want to get at some point).

I have both, blue YM and blue BB58. They wear different as other members say. I thought about getting the BB58 (black) as it wears very nice on my wrist but I got a sub as my heart wanted one. Unfortunately I went grey as it is not worth it to wait for the AD.

The black bays are fantastic watches but IMO you don’t need three haha. Get one and keep waiting for the YM.

A Tudor or many will never scratch that Rolex itch.
It just won't. Get the YM and add a Tudor down the road one day.

If you don’t have a watch to wear and can get a Tudor pick one up they are great watches! I wore a Tudor 75090 sub everyday for 30 years until Rolex final built the 37mm YM that fit my skinny 6 1/4 wist. I always believed a large 40mm watch looked to hulking on my wrist. But… once you buy a modern Rolex you understand how nice they are. The Tudor Sub that only cost me $500 is now worth over $5000 but I have no plans to ever sell it as it has to many memories it hold. Like the birth of my son, he will get is some day as he now loves watches too. Since Buying my first YM 37mm I picked up a vintage DJ 16200. Then picked up a Tudor Black Bay 58 925 but not from my AD because they could not get it for me, they sell many more Rolex’s in their market than Tudor. Then they offered me the watch you speak of the YM 40 blue but I turned them down because I needed another hip surgery and I was in a grumpy mood. It’s an allocation watch and I knew if I didn’t take it I might not see one again but as Karma would have it late in the year I was offered one again and I picked it up. I’ve worn a dive watch my whole life, the 16200 is the first and only watch that isn’t but I really wanted it because of the dial it had and the watch maker at the AD who resorted it for me. I had to wait two yeats to get it. Looking back I wish I would have purchased a Tudor 79090 blue as it would have appreciated the most but I bought it to wear not put in a safe. My next watch is a Tudor Pelagos FXD ‘21. I always laugh at people who think a Tudor is a “Poor Man’s Rolex” yet my Tudor sub is a Rolex sub case. The watch went 29 years without service!!! Admittedly not very bright but one tough watch. It’s silly to look at it as a either or world Tudor or Rolex. The last watch I picked up as a Hodinkee Limited TimeX Diver, if you want a cool watch to wear this is one, I am lucky to have a number of really cool watches to wear thanks to my amazing AD. Only buy what you love!

If you want a Rolex you should get a Rolex! I guess grey market price is not that steep on this model compared to retail? Maybe something to think about.
