New rolex Dweller 2021 question

Hello guys .
I'm new here in this forum , and also new in watch world.

I just bought my first rolex ever 1 week ago .
It's a 2021 Rolex Sky dweller.
I bought it in local shop in Germany that got a lot of good reviews in Chrono24 website.
So I'm pretty sure that I got a real piece.

But I'm wondering about something and this is why I need your help.
I read online that a real Rolex should be silent if I'm trying to hear close to my ears.
But my watch is not 100% silent, I can hear ticking noise .

Is it OK?

Is there even a truly functional counterfeit of the ring command system?

But more directly to the OP, the silent thing is a myth, keine Sorge.

Depends open how loud it is. If you hold it against your ear you should hear the beat.

They do make a noise, a very high frequency ticking, some models are louder than others.

The rotors with the new ball bearings also make more of a noise than the older style

The ticking noise is normal. The SkyD are louder due to their case construction and movement.

So you are afraid that based on your "ear test" that your watch is fake?
And that is despite buying it from a store in Germany that has good reviews from Chrono24.

Our responses here in TRF about how your watches does or does not tick is not the proper way to test the authenticity of your watch.

If you brought your watch to a dealer or an RSC, it will take them less than 5 minutes to answer your question. However, that German store probably already does that so what is the point then?

I own one in SS and RG.

They are definitely not quiet due to their ball bearing set up and can be quite loud when rolling it around near your ear.

Plus as another member stated I seriously doubt there is a fake SkyD with a working Ring Command System.

New rolex Dweller 2021 question

Seems like the kind of question I’d ask prior to making the purchase.

But based on my experience with my real sky dweller, all is AOK.

Welcome to the forum.

Just out of curiosity, do this model have any special signs that can indicate if it is real or fake? I ask because I want to know the watch more in depth.

For example, I can see that near 6 digit, there are no have Rolex logo stamp with CNC or any kind of hologram logo on the glass...is it normal?

Mine is making a faint noise when put against the ear.
There are many ways to identify fake rolexes, many videos on it: laser-etched coronet on glass, etc

Funny I would have done this kind of homework before pulling the trigger on a 20k+ watch :)

If you had a fake sky dweller you would know it. The replicas on this watch are a joke.
I think you are good.

Nobody here can help you with your query. Take your watch to a Rolex Service Centre and ask them to check it (ie. ask for a service quote). Do it now while you've still got some chance of recourse if there are problems flagged.

Yes Sky Dweller is less likely to faked. Yes there are 'signs'.

At the end of the day though you've bought a watch that only Rolex themselves can service (even independents with Rolex accounts are not authorised to work on this model). This means at some point it is going back to Rolex and at that point if they don't like it for whatever reason then you're in trouble.

Next time buy from an AD.

And...*pics or it didn't happen*.

I've seen one on YouTube that looked convincing. The rationale of the commentary was no so much fooling buyers, as people opting for a quality fake. IIRC the watch in question cost around two grand, still a fraction of the MSRP of the real thing.

My TT Sky Dweller runs silently. My SS Sky Dweller has a tick which is barely audible, although if I try, I can just about hear it intermittently.

Congratulations on your Sky Dweller OP. It is unlikely that a reputable grey seller would knowingly sell a fake, but it has been known. Presumably the watch and paperwork passed all the usual checks. If in doubt you can get it checked out. For what you would have paid it wouldn't hurt, if you feel inclined.

Congrats on your new watch!

But wouldn't it be better to get it checked out at an AD or Rolex Service Center to ensure it is the real deal instead instead of asking random strangers on a Rolex Forum if the watch is real based on your observations and no pictures?

I don't think it's fake...I just want to know watch more in depth.

Ive heard the month wheel is stuck to august permanently or something. No way a fake Chinese replica can reproduce the most complex Rolex caliber lol.
