Icon15 DAVIDSW running out of Daytona to sell

DAVIDSW only have two daytona for sell; both are 116520 in black dial.
They have around 15-20 pieces a month ago. I guess demands are through the roof right now.

Or
demand is down so he’s not restocking as much
Flippers are asking more than he wants to pay
His supply has been restricted-owners holding instead of selling
Sees a downside on the horizon and doesn’t want to be holding

Who knows, other than David….

Perhaps you should just ask David.

Its tough to keep up a website with that much volume. I bet he has quite a few waiting to go up, or sitting in the safe riding the wave to the top.

I saw that too. He went from having over 15 pieces to just 2 in about three weeks.

My hunch is things are not what they seem on the surface. Maybe he is refreshing his stock online listings at the moment - but that's just one probably incorrect guess. It's probably something we can't see from here. But in a few days, things may change dramatically.

May have to stop selling them so cheap.

And I think people need to understand that what is on the website may be all..or may be just a fraction ...of what is in the safe. Many dealers will hold back stock if they expect rising demand and rising prices. They don't all have TPG style cash flow problems.

As an aside...I am so far outside the group that would entertain a watch priced at 2 to 3 or more times retail that I can't even wrap my head around today's prices and the idea that people who pay them exist.

I wonder the same thing. Maybe he's holding expecting a price shift either up or down?

Or demand is through the roof and he takes the ads down for a few days then reposts at higher prices.

I noticed the same thing a couple days ago. I don’t ever recall seeing his Daytona inventory anywhere near this low before.

I do think we should be careful trying to guess what this means. Probably not much anyway.

His GMT asking prices have shot up over the past week. Try finding a TT CHNR under 25k now...

It’s not just David but many other trusted sellers had them marked up even higher (pre owned $43K+ 116500LN Panda) this week and they are gone now as well.

This all seems like déjà vu of 4 years ago and I bet many will kick themself not buying at todays price.

A while back I messaged watchfinder (big grey dealer in the UK) about buying my explorer, as I was curious to see what they would pay.
They replied with a really lowball offer, about £3k less than they had listed them. When I asked why so low, they replied that they had 31 of that watch in stock- even though their website only showed 7.
So I guess this might be quite a common thing.

Been looking for a GMT Pepsi on Oyster so I can have that option to buy/switch between Jubilee. They are kind of hard to find too.

I wonder how this will affect his brick and mortar business? I can't imagine it being empty with nothing to sell. Rent and bills still needs to be paid on the monthly!

I don't think he run out of Daytona watches because The last time I checked like 2 days ago he had quite a few including two tones, the same thing happened to Rolex Sub ND 41MM, he used to have 2 in stock, the other day both disappeared and today he have 2 listed at $600 more than previous listing.

Pretty sure that’s an excuse to make their offer seem less like they were ripping you off lol…….doubt they are looking for 32 explorer 1s
