Tried on a blue SkyD today - amazing

I have no idea why Rolex would send the blue SkyDweller as one of its demo watches, but I was able to try one on today nonetheless.

After hating the fit of my SD43, I was expecting much of the same with the SkyD. Surprisingly, it was fairly comfortable. By comparison, the white dialed 116500 that I wore to the store felt … lacking.

Awesome watch with a ton of wrist presence and I love blue dials. No point in even asking to be on that waitlist though.

It is an amazing watch, but I do think you need a +7 in. wrist to pull it off. I am at ~6.75 in. and when I've tried it on it fits but does feel a touch too big.

Amazing movement design to allow the fluted bezel to control what is being changed. Any idea what a Rolex service on this movements costs?

I got to try on blue SD on jubilee just before Christmas at my AD and have to agree I love blue dial’s myself it is a amazing watch in the flesh, so I asked could they get me one for my 50th birthday they said yes, it’s a couple of years away but I don’t mind waiting especially for this one as it’s my favourite

SkyD blue is one of Rolex's most innovative movements, combined with a well-thought-out dial and way of adjust the complication. If you have the means and opportunity, I highly recommend it.

Have to agree with all comments above, however has kinda spoiled this great hobby of ours. Cos the "itch" has been well and truly scratched!
Find it hard to improve on this watch!

If you haven't asked then you don't know for sure, and if you don't ask you don't get. Never say never.

I've been asking my AD for a SS Blue for 3 years. I finally went on the list in October 2021. It's going to be years but at least I will get one if they are not discontinued.

It’s incredible! No clue why these tease people with this one to the difficulty in getting one. One of my all time favorites

I love mine but it does wear big however I think history will respect the movement, it is very clever/practical.

I am on the list for a SkyD in black dial (the best colour for a SkD in my opinion, although I would love a Rhodium grey version) with jubilee bracelet, I consider a call as a nice surprise I am looking forward to in however many years it takes to get one. :D

Blue dial sky-dweller on Jubilee looks awesome, not seen this in the flesh, might have to try and track one down.

Its a top level example of why Rolex is the king. The movement is a work of engineering porn and that is before you even look at the dial.

I wore mine fishing today, its a tool watch after all.

I had a similar experience. Put on the SkyDweller, loved it, but felt foolish asking to be put on a 3-5 year list.

Did you ask or did you feel too foolish to ask?

I was in Sarasota Fl at the UTC mall and the Rolex store had about 12 "demo" watches including a blue SD, I love all 3 colors, the blue photographs the best but the white and black are stunning in person

The black dial has a subtle sunburst effect that works well for a watch of this size. It can be dazzling but it mostly glows, sometimes shimmers and frequently vanishes. You can see it just starting to glow between 3 and 4 in the photo below. For white I would go PM or TT for the contrast, each to our own.

The SS Blue really is something special.

I tried one on when they were first released and found it large, heavy and very shiny!! That said the mechanism is an extremely impressive feat of engineering.

I got to try on a blue dial Sky-D as well about a month ago at my AD. It was only an exhibition piece, but was the first time I was able to feel what it was like on the wrist. At 42mm, I thought it was going to be too big for me, but it wasn't. Usually, 40mm is about as large as my wrist can handle. However, I could totally see myself owning and enjoying this piece! Too bad it wasn't available for purchase. :(

From the beginning I thought that it might be too big for my 6.6" wrist but after I tried it on, I love it, 4 months later it's mine.

I think this model is one of the best Rolex timepiece.

Didn’t know you had this, very nice.

I wish I had an AD like you I want to buy a new one watch but prices are becoming very very high now.
