How rare is having a 116710 Blnr with a new style card?

Any information on this would be appreciated. From what I understand the 116710 BLNR was discontinued in 2019 well before the new cards were out. My buddy has one and I WANT it. Lol. Thank you all in advance.

I read somewhere that after Rolex switched to the new cards, they reissued/replaced the original paper guarantee on some older stock that ADs still had that had not yet been sold. Does the serial number on the new card match the serial number engraved on the rehaut?

Does the SN on the card match the watch and does the NFC feature of the card work?

I don't think the card really matters that much in terms of value. You're just getting the older movement. That is the most important point of differentiation.

Yes the SN matches and it was dated late 2020. So if it was NOS they would have had to hold it for about a year and a half.

It really isn’t except for getting a discontinued model that hasn’t been worn. The value of NOS is in the never worn condition.

A original BLNR having a new style NFC warranty card is interesting but doesn’t improve or hurt its market value compared to one with the older card.

Yes, possible. Rolex released a small batch of these discontinued 116710s 2 years ago, select number of ADs received them. This included both the BLNR and the LN. The watches were then sold with the new style warranty card and carry new full warranty starting from the point of sale. My AD allowed me the opportunity to grab a LN they received in late 2020 so I have one like this, with new style card.

These have the old movement with shorter power reserve tho.

I think it became irrelevant when they released the 126710blnr on oyster.

I got my BLNR new from an AD in early December of last year, and it's just like the OP's. It's a 116710 with the new card.

It's not common but I dont think it makes it more valuable other benefitting from a newer watch and longer warranty.

As others said, it happens, not very common. But you will need to convince someone to care. I don’t think the majority of collectors will care about which card it has for a certain Watch year, i don’t see any additional value.

This.

Personally I’d rather have the batgirl or Batman with new movement

I see no added value; this seems like a bit of a futile attempt to hype it. I agree with others who say they'd rather have the newer movement. It is strange that this watch wasn't sold while they were being made as they were pretty much flying off the shelves.

Not trying to hype it. It’s just very unusual. And In a world of us collectors anything unusual is better. Lol. I would say more bragging rights.

If you value it more, great. But it's meaningless to most people. My advice: don't kid yourself.

One should pay at least double since it has the new piece of plastic.

I have one if that helps with the count. I’ve been told they’re extremely rare. But who really knows???

As far as extra value goes… I think it adds a small amount. The truth is watch geeks, especially Rolex fan boys geek out at odd rarities. Flat 4. Stick dial. “Patina”. List goes on and on. Anything that makes something less common will play a factor to the right person. Sure it’s just a warranty card, not a dial, but it’s something.

When I first got mine I was offered far higher than what the normal BLNR’s were going for. I’m not selling so it doesn’t matter but it was interesting to see that there are some people who are willing to pay a premium for just about anything.

But then again… I’m biased!
